Trend of Moaning

It has been quite sometime since immigration problem made global head lines. This epidemic which unite third world nation across the globe is costing them the productive age.

In the twenty first century where there is no information burden and superiority of economic scale of the countries, the young with an academic background of under developed countries are fleeing their home to developed nation risking their life for the sake of an ideal better future. This risky journey which is thousand miles across many countries, every year costs thousands of life or end immigrants in foreign jells.

In the other hand, developed nation are affected by this tragedy with high number of asylum seekers reaching their shores and borders hoping to sneak in with the first opportunity possible they can get. Lately, these countries imposed a tough regulation to prevent from these floods of economic immigrants to go through their borders.

In Somaliland the truth is not far from this. Each year thousands of local youth that are in their productive age risk their life chasing that ideal future which can and easily cost the life which they were seeking for a better future for. These young immigrants have some characters in common. Characters such as academic background, financially capability, and lack of interest in local opportunities.

Due to the country’s financial weakness and the absence of international recognition from the international community. The youth’s doubt about their future local opportunities is growing like no before. This is costing the country the scarce local talented youth who were expected to boost the development of the nation. This absence of the role of the youth is felt strongly by the nation.

Ok?!.. The million dollar question is why these youth are fleeing and abandoning their home while they can create their own opportunity locally with the capital they are spending on this journey?!!!…

Well, while is no accurate answer agreed by every one for that, but one thing is for sure. It begins with moaning. A complain of the immigrant about his/her future and local opportunities. This blind the person from observing and study local opportunities that could be used as a bridge to brighter future, leading the individual to the conclusion of immigrating. The second point is that the success stories of a friends from these dream places. This kills the motivation of the potential immigrant for the local opportunities apatite similar to the old saying; “if you are looking at the green on the other side of the river, you cannot see the one under your legs”.

The real moaning starts after the journey begin. The trip is full of complains like the different reality the traveler is facing, his/her financial status, the different government laws, you name it. If the immigrate is lucky enough to reach the destiny with out any harm in the dangerous journey, caught and deport back or end up in jail, the trend of moaning continuous and becomes advance at this stage. At this level the person is complaining about getting the appropriate working documents, learning the culture and local language, or even getting work to cover basic expenses. Those who had managed to reach the ending of the moaning trend which are few in number, are not expected to support their family members back at home for years. In fact, the proportion Somaliland is losing to these immigrants is much greater then their contribution.

The reality is that, how to cope with this tragedy and reduce or stop the flow of this productive age out from the country? In addition to that, the question is when would be the ideal ending period of this moaning for Somaliland as well as similar countries? The answers of these questions are yet to be discovered by Somaliland and its counterparts.

The answer is pretty simple. Call it moaning or whatever else, everything
centers on bad governments. Countries with good governments will have
    less problems.

As the saying goes: all that glitters is not gold and the grass is not greener on the other side. It is very hard to make it in the western world if you are not born into. There is a struggle, loneliness, heartbreaking, culture-shock and very subtle racisim which is hard to understand. You will never get the social status you once had in your country and you will always feel an outsider. Your expectations and the illusive opportunity you were chasing soon evaporates into the thin air. Thus, lots of people lose their mind. Very few people get lucky and make it. Others struggle to make ends met through out.

Young people should think twice before they leave their country, family and friends and risk their lives. It doesn't worth the risk. Take it from people who lived it.

As article author statement, put the money you are using to risk your into a business at home, being your own boss among your family, friends, and fellow country-men. You are a king/queen in your own country, but nothing elsewhere.

Please Somaliland youth, stay at home. Home is where the heart is always!
