Thousands of Drought Displaced Families in Eastern Regions of Somaliland Need Urgent Humanitarian Aid

The Successive droughts hit in eastern regions of Somaliland since 2008 resulted thousands of families lost their livestock and came to villages in Togdheer, Sanaag and Sool regions of Somaliland and formed IDP camps in the outskirts of villages and towns like Burao, Erigavo, Lasanod, Ainabo, Oodweyne, Hudun, Buhoodle and Taleh.
In these three regions, every year new people join to the IDP camps, last year many families lost their livestock from the severe drought hit in Togdheer, Sool and Sanaag regions, the IDPs did not get assistance from the humanitarian agencies based in Somaliland apart from small contributions from the local people. The lives of theses IDP people is deteriorating day after day if not urgent humanitarian assistance provided. In addition to that, there are Tens of Thousands of people fled from Somalia currently inhabited large IDP camps in Hargeisa, Burao and Berbera and other places in Somaliland, these people live in very harsh situation because of the hyper inflation which seriously affected their daily live and there is a very little support from the international Aid Agencies because Somaliland government believe that the people displaced from Somalia crossed international boundary between Somaliland and Somalia and needs to be recognized as a refugees and demands from the international concerned agencies include UNHCR to provide assistance these people deserves as given by the international laws (like the 1951 Refugee Convention).
The international community gave little attention into the drought situation of the Somaliland’s eastern regions which needs urgent response from the Aid agencies and international community and also to give assistance to the people from Somalia those who live in large IDP camps in Hargeisa, Burao, Berbera and other towns in Somaliland.

The world communities wants you to die due to starvation before they can offer you any assistance, thanks to government and the people of Somaliland, unlike South Somalia, this has not happened in Somaliland. As always the case, Somaliland people and government has to tie their belt and double their effort to save its people.

Despite the death and suffering, the world's is attention is focused on helping Somalia. The government of Somalia has to manage well the International Aid and feed the people to alleviate the suffering. And they need to stop the mismanagement and the sale of the International Aid for their personal gains. It is heartlessness, wickness, and shamelessness to do that.
I think if the Somaliland governmnet do not provide early warning report to the International comunity and our local people on the situation of the eastern regions about the drought results and the large needy IDP people scatered in the villages and towns in Eastern regions those who need urgent assistance, the situation may go its way like Somalia famine (Ilaahay inaguma keenee). the Government must wake up and prepare a plan to help these people before the dry season comes up (Winter). this year the eastern regions got very little rain, although the Dayr season is still waiting.
The current drought victims are non current government sub clans like H/Yoonis and H/Awal and other tribes and the current government is blocking the international aid.
This is Ethiopian water and fish style of mass massacre. Easter tribes must help their people. I advising H,Awal and H/Yunis stand up and save your people.
I blame the SSC and Pirateland, if Somaliland gov was able to carryout its due in those regions, this would not have occurred. Too bad the fools in eastern sanaag and parts of Sool followed those two mafia groups now they have no one to feed them—-let Sado Ali, SSC militia and Pirateland feed them.
