Six MP among 31 killed in Mogadishu suicide hotel raid

MOGADISHU (Somalilandpress) — At least 30 people including six Somali lawmakers were killed and dozens others wounded on Tuesday after Islamist fighters including suicide bombers raided a hotel used by Somali government officials said. ”
We know that six of the 31 so far confirmed dead are members of parliament after the anti-peace elements attacked Muna Hotel where many government officials reside,” Mohumed Elmi, a senior Police officer told Xinhua.
Elmi said that the security forces were still perusing the remaining fighters after one of the exploded a suicide belt inside the hotel.
Other reports put the figure of dead MP higher.
The Muna Hotel is located in the government controlled Hamarweyne district and reports say that the fighters were clad in the uniform of the Somali government forces when they managed to enter.
The Somali government security forces are reportedly surrounding the area and heavy exchange of gunfire and explosions heard around the Hotel used by Somali government lawmakers and other officials.
The attacks came as heavy fighting declared on Monday by Islamist fighters from Al Shabaab enters its second day with clashes leaving almost 50 people dead and more than 150 others wounded.
Islamist group of Al Shabaab on Monday called fighters to wage “an all-out war” against Somali government forces and AU peacekeeping troops saying that everyone should contribute in every possible way.
They accuse the AU troops of invading Somalia and vowed to continue the fight against the peacekeepers until they withdraw from the war torn country.
There has lately been war of words between the two opposing sides about much anticipated offensive each said would launch to get rid of the other during the on-going holy month of Ramadan.

Are these people the same Muslims we are? If not, why are they being called Islamist? Are they simply not terrorist? Why do we have to copy the "western media" and slander Islam and Muslims ourselves?
I wonder if this is also a religious retual even in Ramadaan. I blieve that true islam is peace justic and love, but arabs of Alsabaab have different version.

Even calling people Sheikhs like those criminals is wrong. I think we Somalis have never seen Sheikhs wielding guns and killing people every day. The names like "Islamists", "sheikh", and " Mujahidin" are misnomers. The Somali Media are on the bandwagon of the West. They should better be called Terrorists.
