HARGEISA (Somalilandpress) — New Somaliland’s President Ahmed Mohamud made his first speech as president to the citizens of Somaliland by opening with these words: “ Brothers and sister, thanks be to Allah, it is certain, that we reached a huge victory as a nation, collectively. A victory that will for certain go down in our history. Indivisibly, we have collectively and passionately reached our goal as one nation; overcoming past political differences, with much patience and experience attaining our ultimate aim.”
“with all sincerity, like to praise my fellow citizens on their patriotism and bravery and for keeping the interest of the nation in mind. I cannot deny also, Somaliland’s thirst for change. I am very confident that we will turn our hopes into reality. Brothers and sisters, we must all work together as one nation.”
“My administration and every ministry should work in unity to reach our ultimate goal”
National Security: There are conflicts in Buhodle and the Sool region. There is much disturbance between the Somaliland army and the militia groups in that region, which will create a potential danger if not dealt with immediately. War is never the solution stated the president. “ I ask the elders, and those individuals involved in this matter to solve this issue with dialogue”.
The New Administration’s Programs of Focus: Progression of Health Care, Education,Water Department, Country Side, Usage of Marine Resources, Rebuilding of The Economy, Caring for Veterans and War Heroes, Women’s Affairs, Protection of The Rights of the Minority Groups, Federal and Military Employees’ Services.
Agenda for the first 100 days and 6months in Office: To appoint all cabinet and ministry positions, to execute a just and democratic process, to work on Somaliland joining in the rest of the world in areas of economics, politics and security measures. The aim is to have alliances with the rest of the world community, always keeping Somaliland’s interest in mind first. To seeking full recognition of Somaliland from the world body, improving relations with Africa, Europe and the United States. Forming a new alliances with Middle Eastern and Asia nations, also improve peace/trade relations with neighboring countries such as Ethiopian, Djibouti and Kenya.
The administration will collaborate with neighboring countries on security issues andh piracy in the Horn of Africa. Tackling militias that use guns to practice communication rather than violence.
Starting today, the president promised to use the nation’s budget to directly benefit it’s citizens, allowing free and fair trade, and appoint an independent agency to oversea the nation’s budget without government interference. “It is absolutely, forbidden, for anyone in my administration to use the nation’s resources for personal use, justice is the foundation and the progress of the nation.”, said president Silanyo.
The president also announced to pardon all Somaliland citizens that are detained for political reasons. “I give them back their rightful freedoms”, said the president. Somaliland’s new president promises to have tangible changes during his administration, that represent factual needs of the nation. Today twenty six members of cabinet and ministries have been appointed as promised by Mr. Silanyo during elections. This new administration’s cabinet consist the least members in Somaliland history; which is less than the previous administration.
“The journey seems long, but with unity and confidence, and support from the citizens, Somaliland will achieve greatness”. Lastly, the president expressed great gratitude for the Elections Committee, friends, citizens, supporters, universities, women and the youth for all their hard work and support.

Mr. President, your saying all the right things so far but ultimately we will judge your performance by your actions. So we wish you good luck and stand shoulder to shoulder with you.

Indeed the President's inaguration speech carries remarkable hopes
and significant aspirations well said, but without team work of his
Administration, a one man show will not work. Lets hope and pray that
Kulmiye's Party type of Government role Model will prove much different
than the previous Regimes since 1993 Borama role Model which
basically decentralised by ending the then Snm type of Government
and implemented a general formula covering all the Somaliland 6 Regions.
The Republican hardliner Udub Party was at the helm of power since
26 June 2010. What a long time for one party to remain in power!
A well known tribalist, who will not change anything, other than promote cronyism.
