Somalilandpress set to relocate to bigger servers

As you are aware, few days ago we notified everyone that we were migrating to new bigger and better servers to manage our growing traffic and increasing data (see Somalilandpress set to migrate).

We began this process over four days ago however we did not clearly plan things right. For instance we carried out the move without preparing all the necessary information needed by our IT department and people involved in the process.

Mohamed Guled, the CEO, was busy traveling between Sheikh, Hargeisa, Burao and Berbera to finally launch Hargeisa’s first neurology hospital with Dr Essa Kayd. This took days to chase him up and finally get information from him. Mohamed will tell you more about this hospital once he returns to Boston next week.

Then we had some technical issues because we had so many third parties involved so we had to chase so many people and this took time too.

Then we had issues with our domain itself, which was also managed by three companies, thus more third parties and more complications.

All in all the site is now better and we fixed many issues that we never had time to address it previously.

We are going to get bigger and better from here and we want to take you on that journey with us.

We thank everyone who supported us in this stage including our IT people who worked hours to ensure we came back online.

We wish to thank SomalilandSun.

We apologise to all our visitors, advertisers and friends for any inconvenience caused.
