It is high time that Somaliland should unite to tackle current political challenges that could later result disturbing consequences if not halted now. There are visible political interferences arising from diverse fronts with apparent intentions to destabilize the country and to infest with anarchy virus imported from the south Somalia.

In this year alone, UN representative made couple of cynical visits with secret missions to Somaliland and also made desperate attempt to convince Somaliland politicians to join his so-called consultative meetings held in South Somalia. Consequently, Somaliland officials categorically refused and sent Mr. Mehega back to his office with empty hands.

Despite Somaliland’s refusal, Mr. Mehega had been showing invincible tenacity to implicitly drag Somaliland into the South Somalia chaos as part of his assignment in Somalia. And secondly, there is high possibility that he could be now engaged in weaving on other missions to undermine Somaliland and its aspirations. Thus, Somaliland should be on guard with vigilant eyes as dangerous and intimidating Africa cobra with UN helmet is in the vicinity, with determination to spit out its deadly poison into our political landscape.

As practically observed, African cobra and its poison already demonstrated its success rate when injected into South Somalia as the country had been mired in civil war with no end in sight. In fact, one could witness that, the latest victim was the former Prime Minister, Mr. Farmaajo who made sincere and tangible attempts of putting his country back on peace-building track.

Republic of Somaliland

Further, Mr. Mehega’s conducts differs not much from his fellow African leaders, those who continuously rob their people and country and then resorting to foreign country as refugees. In fact, African leaders share common traits while in power – fattening their pockets and watching their people dying with apathy. More, African leaders act as chief facilitators when international organized criminals carelessly plundering African precious resources such as fishing and other minerals. For instance, illegal fishing and dumping toxic wastes in the Somali water appeared to be a norm for some countries with no reprimands and sadly, The Boss of Somali, Mr. Mehega works only on how to fatten his pocket and also ensures his Bosses [UN] get their share of the pie.

To sum up, Mr. Mehega , the essence of his frequent visits to Somaliland is to obliterate Somaliland by implicitly injecting the deadly virus –tribal divisions that caused the collapse of former Somalia prime minister’s government. Apparently, Mr. Mehega has been employed as a token and his assignments include on how to draft strategic plans that would prolong the deadly civil war – so their pays and perks continue for the years to come. As our former minister Mr. Warancade already warned about Mehega’s secret missions, Somaliland must not allow him to visit further and all his correspondences should be banned.

The Somaliland Govt. is capable in handling the country's political affairs. At least that's what's expected to happen??? Therefore there's no problem if the UN envoy MR. Mahiga comes to Somaliland for whatever purposes. At the end of the day its upto the Somalis anywhere to accept or reject whatever proposals any foreign envoy carries around.
    Cheers.

Silly Buraahe, what you are advocating is empty rhetoric, there is no such groups as ssc in existence and Somaliland is oasis of peace and exemplary nation to Africa, your tribal hatred mentality is out of date and those engaged in acts of dragging somaliland into civil war have already failed. Rest assured your ssc bandits will never win hearts and minds of Sool people. The people in that region have leaders they trust and have chosen peace over war.

Sick Buraleh, the train of Somaliland started to shifted the right direction in 1991. It amazes me how long it will take you to realize that. Wake up. Somaliland has the power and guts to stop Mahiga and his ilks in one stroke of a pen . Mind you and get a heal and self remedy before you got a heart attack or the pressure of the blood..
For a Africa, it is on the move and Somaliland is one of its front burners for peace, prosperity and power and Mahiga ( the new kid in the block) knew it full well..

First Mr. Mahiga was misqouted. His speech in Canada with Somali community was positive about Somaliland. H8s words included ; SOmaliland and Somali is like the earth and the sky, Somaliland is the sky. The questionis if but it will be recogniuses, I don't support the recognition nor object it. Tbe union between Somalia and Somaliland did not work well. The power transfer last year was something unique in Africa . Africa can learn alot from Somaliland.?? these were his words. Fact are fact. We Somalilanders, has to be clear on issues that is fact from hearsay, Mr. Mahiga, did not ask to meet with the tugs who calls itself Awdal state, apparently, when he met with Somali community in Canada, this group were part of the greater community, nothing more than that. And of course, they stood next to him and took pictures of themselves with him with or without his consent and apparently introduced themselves as from Awdal state. Nothing is said beyond this and this is nothing but cheap propaganda from those who hate Somaliland. If I were Somaliland government, I would not pay any attention to this kinds of garbage.

This is a well thought article written and I am delighted these kind of guys are among us.
Obviously when we are talking about Farmaajo's foriegn policy, he was exactly following the foot steps of dictator Barreh since he mobilised some of Suna wal Jama terrorists together athors in order to remove the power from the weak Tfg, Sharif in particular. His policy could have yield some fruits if the two Sharifs did not play a game of them being enemy to each other which they succeeded to get rid of him.
With regards to Mahiga, he was given more than 3 million dollar by Farole in order to persuade him that he listens to their garbage and agree that their vision is in the best interest of Somalia. Mahiga agreed their views at the last so called comsultation meeting held in Kenya and subsequently in Mogadishu.
If you check the proposal Farole submitted to the Somali Conference any one could see that there were no differences between the outcome of the conference and the one submitted by farole.
I do not really trust Mahiga and he should be banned from visiting Somaliland or he should be bribed in order for him to listen our proposals.

Bantu Mahiga should be banned from entering Somaliland. The UN must send a better person for us to deal with. Mahiga is no different than the warlords in Mogadishu. He is funding and fueling internal clan wars in Somalia, Somaliland and the region.

Here in Somaliland we do not like him. We do not need the UN. UN is for nations not capable of feeding their citizens like Somalia.

I may not be privy to what happens in Somaliland but I can tell that from the language being spoken herein, Somalis' hate non Muslim Subsaharan Africans. Mahiga is an employee, he articulates what the UN wants him to do. I am sure nobody wants to see Somaliland burning in war. If Somaliland does not heed Mahiga's advice, Mahiga can do nothing. You do not have to display so much anger when criticizing him. I am sure that we all know that Somaliland does not always exemplify the epitome of democracy within Africa. The fact is, Somaliland was borne out of disagreements with greater Somali that is an apex example of a failed state. By virtue of the two states sharing a border, insecurity of one state can easily destabilize the other. As such, I would urge Somaliland to participate in modalities geared toward establishing a stable Somali state.
