Somaliland: UDUB’S Announces Date for the Party’s Convention, as Vice Chairman Quits Posts

The former President of Somaliland Hon Dahir Rayale Kahin today Speaking to the media during a press conference which he held at his private residence accepted the resignation of his former vice President Hon Ahmed Yusuf Yassin from the post of deputy chairman of UDUB.

The former head of state also revealed the dates for the long awaited UDUBs Central Committee convention which has been delayed by internal differences in the party’s different factions which have been dragging on for some time now will be held on the 27^th of August.

Hon Dahir riyale told reporters during the press conference that he welcomes the resignation of his former vice President Ahmed Yusuf Yassin of whom he had been accusing of fomenting the problems currently facing the party while he was outside the country.

The former President also urged all party delegates’ country wide to come to the party’s headquarters no later than 25^th so as to attend the party’s which will begin on the 27^th of August in Hotel Ambassador in Hargeisa.

Hon Dahir Riyale added that after the completion of convention ,the party will produce of a list of all party’s candidates who will be compete in the upcoming local council elections in seven days’ time.

This comes hours after the former Vice President Ahmed Yusuf Yassin announced that he was resigning from the post of party’s vice chairman for the benefit of the party.

Many of UDUB die hard supporters including a good portion of the youth wing recently defected in droves after the chairman and also former President Dahir Riyale Kahin refused to endorse the youthful Jamal Ali Hussien instead he chose to side with old party hawks a move which triggered a split in the party.

It’s widely believed that the party (UDUB) has lost touch with majority of Somalilanders and that the party is expected to loss in the upcoming Local elections elections.

All parties go through strife and transitions, and UDUB is no stranger to that. What is unique about Somaliland is that we are reporting and discussing this matter in a serious way. We are talking about the Former President and Vice-President parting ways due to political issues. One is carrying on, the other is going to the house of Elders. No guns, no throwing chairs, no name-calling, community/clan slurs. Politics is politics, nothing personal.

Somaliland continues to amaze.

I believe that the former Vice President decision to resign is a political move. Udub needs to change its policies for the better. Completely revamp its image. Starting with the logo !

Useless. Every habar quits when the blood bank dries up. It's all tribal motivated. UDUB is claimed by Essa Mussa and only want Essa Musse because of Egal, Wadani is few HY who believe in the silly SL thing, Kulmiye is HJ and the most tribal organization in the north. UCID is mostly the few Garhajis who think SL is a country…every Habar has "party".

Soon every sub habar will have its own sub-party too.

No one takes these things serious any more. Not sure even why Riyale is still there. He needs to get an MP seat in Mogadishu with his cousin Samatar.

Racist Isaaq-Habashi will eat you alive, what happened to the victims of Samale and Dilla? Their killers hide behind Silaanyo. Awdal people will be eradicated if the angry racist sub-Habashi did gain recognition not that they will. I am inside their camps and one of their main goal is if recognition comes to arm themselves to the teeth like Israel. In fact they see themselves as the Israelis of the Horn, who have enemies left, right and center.

Now you have chance to run, run Samaroon…run.

    Hawa, that's just a desperate attempt to divide and rule strategy. They know the only way to bring Somaliland down is by first dividing it which is why they trying to scare Samaroon away and desperately asking for garhajis support when in fact garhajis would rather pick up the gun and fight then join Mogadishu. Somaliland came a long way and Mogadishu did nothing for us and will do nothing for us. All these negativity will not kill our spirit but will make us more stronger and vigilant. Who cares if they call us Somalideed VIVA SOMALIDEED :-)

  Don't forget Udub is the Republican grand old party(GOP)..with Egalism out, it could have a fresh
  start under the former President Hon. Riyaale. With the know-how expertise he has, the GOP
  could well shine again in the SLD Politics. Besides, there are already close relations between
  Riyaale and Silaanyo…these two need one another, as we have seen. I think these two living
  presidents could do a lot to further the progress causes of Somaliland..President Silaanyo
  pro London and former President Riyaale Pro Paris.

Republic Of Somaliland belong to all Somalilanders and they have equal right no one is above the other, It is not like this failed Somalia see what is happening at present their Members of Parliament are not the elected ones and they do not represent any Constituent, Where have you seen this World the Parliamentarians are selected on tribal lines instead of elected from their constituent.
