HARGEISA — The state have lambasted maliciously baseless reports emanating from the local press insinuating that the government had influenced the decision of the law courts as concerns the recent high profile corruption case against top civil servants.
The Hargeisa regional governor, the resettlement ministry’s director general and top VP advisor were amongst a dozen convicts who were sentenced from 1 to 8 years for deviation of food aid worth hundreds of thousands of US dollars.
In a press statement released yesterday by the Minister of Information and National Guidance, who happens to be the official government spokesperson, the state categorically refuted malicious claims and allegations which are baseless that depicted the state to have manipulated the outcome of the case against the convicts.
Hon. Abdi Yusuf Duale aka Bobe said that the President H.E. Ahmed Mohammed Mohamud had never indulged in such acts of bulldozing “the judiciary before nor does he now”.
The Minister noted that the judiciary was an independent arm of governance pillars “that was completely separate from the legislature and the executive”.
Hon. Boobe reminded the people that the two sad and sensitive internal political cases within UDUB and UCID parties were arbitrated upon in a manner that endeared the public trust to the judiciary.
“The courts ruled upon the cases to the satisfaction of the people”, he said, and added, “therefore there is no such ways whereby it could either directly or indirectly manipulate hence coerce rulings in simple criminal procedural cases”.
The Minister said, “we would also be quite clear and vivid herein hence categorically state that there was no any time whatsoever that any one asked pardon from the President nor did the President give any oral or formal directive to pardon any of the convicts”.
He continued in the press statement, “the President and the government would at all times respect hence be bounded by decisions of the judiciary’.
He further advised the members of the legislature and members of Kulmiye Party’s central committee to use appropriate means of airing their reservations rather than using the public media, in other words, use better moral conduits to thrash out differences.

Nice talk Mr. Minister, but I have not seen anyone blaming the President directly, and the government that you represent is not only the President. During the process of this case in the court of law, people have been listening the hearing almost everyday, and if these gentlemen are guilty of anything, people should have sensed it, at least once. Why all of sudden, the whole issue turned 45 degrees to unsubstantiated guilty verdict, while all witnesses clear these gentlemen from wrong doing?
Mr. Minister, our President is not involve this issue, and he does not have time to interfere it, but don't you think there are others who influenced the verdict? It could happen!. The people of Somaliland only needs to know the truth, and the trusted people of this government can double-check what has happened and very fast, before this goes out of proportion and wicked people use against Somaliland. Court of appeal should be allowed to listen this case and put the outcome to rest.
We all know who was behind the so called "corruption" case. I ask, the airport, one of many examples remains closed due to corruption within the senior Garadag Councils—-how can they say they are fighting corruption?
They are shameless and the most crooked thugs north Somalia has seen since the days of Siad Bare, unlike Siad who at least did something, Zero'aanyo and his gang hide behind the walls of Morgan's former House.
Amina Weris pushed the so called judge to put them behind bars so the truth is never revealed. Well done Eedo!
Kayse,
You are an Idiot, who has no moral whatsoever, you pretend to know all, while you know nothing. You keep attacking people from Garadag but I am very sure, you do not have a clew that people of Garadag are not part of this administration. Did you know those who are currently arrested for corruption are from Garadag? And did you know people from garadag are very mad at the current administration because their sons were arrested by this government? Please, think before writing rubbish on this website. Have you heard a saying "he who think he knows something sometime turn to know nothing"? This is you! Mind you, i am not from Garadag, I am a true Somaliland and nationalist and very proud of it.
Have you realized that you are against a nation, and not individual? Come to your sense please and stop this madness of yours.
keyse
stop insulting this is last warning.we {gar adagland} kick the people ussssss
Omer,
I do not recognize Garadag gangs as a "government" nor does anyone else in the world. I am going to my Hargeisa next year and if the gangs give me an issue, I'm going to first write a simple letter that goes something like: " Dear my government, UN and the government of Somalia, I am illegally harassed by members of two subclans who proclaimed themselves as a government despite the fact that no body in the world recognizes their claim. I am in my birthplace and I request that you consult these gangs before things turn violent."
The Somali government will then tell the world, Garadag is holding north Somalia hostage and it needs foreign forces to reunify the nation. Rebels such as USC, SNM, SSDF have long seized.
Time to move on.
I have the upper hand in every sense.
I think the H.e. the minister of Information and national guidance is absolutely correct in his press release. The Judicial legal system is independent and therefore did their independent ruling of
the subject matters. There's no such a thing as Garadag council here, but a govt system working.
Cheers.
Kayse,
Tribal matters is the only thing that resides between your ears. You're lacking the normal human intelligence. Keep coming it's a good component to have an idiot in very group.
Osman Qaal
Osman,
You can deny all you want but I have people inside the former house of Morgan who are sending me reliable information. Amina Weris runs the Garadag Council like her own house and Silaanyo put bunch of his people around her and he makes no decisions. He is known tribalist but he is not the one calling the shots.
The one who is ruining everything is directly Amina Weris and Hersi Gaab. Those two gangs need to be aprehended.
Amina should be ashamed of herself, she left London just to rob rice from the poor. I am getting more information stay tuned and you know Somalis are people that talk, I am inside the office of Silaanyo and I can tell you the whole place is his tribe and people don't care but when they practice nepotism, state funded corruption, funding wars, illegal imprisonment, it becomes an issue.
I am speaking to civil servants and some Council ministers. Silaanyo can try to find out for himself who they are.
All the Somaliland media are reporting this too thats why this Boobe is going on the defense…he is lying of course.
I think this government should put up some sort of regulations for the press because there is a fine line between freedom of speech and out right lying about people in the government just because you want your clan to have everything!
Somaliland is for everyone and anyone who is anyone knows this government is doing its best! The only ones screaming are the same ones who werent doing anything while Riyale was stealing. You do the math.
Here we go again. Tokiyo rose (kayse aka the snake head) finding a new obssesion in the first lady of Somaliland. I don't think he is what somalis call a man. One thing about Somali men they don't bash females.
