LOGOSomaliland Ropes

Somaliland Ropes: Connecting
Youth/Professionals Event on Saturday 14th July from 3:30pm to 8:30pm
at Goldsmiths Univeristy.

This event has been organised by a group of Somaliland activists based
in the UK including myself. In the UK; young Somalilanders (aged under
35) are unheard voices, especially, when compared to our older
generation and/or to other communities in the UK.

One of the main objectives of this one day event is to bring together
young and professional Somalilanders in the UK  and those with an
interest in Somaliland to discuss about issues relating to the
development, political, economic and social spheres of Somaliland.

We are hopeful this event will attract around 100 or more people on the
day and it will be held at Goldsmiths University, a University of London school.

The format of the day is unique; it is divided into two
parts where part (1) is Presentations by young and professional
Somalilanders and keynote speakers, and part (2) is scheduled for
workshops that will be interactive and expected all participatants to
take part. Other objectives of such event is that, following on from
this event, some sort of Somaliland-Youth led organisation/ Civil
society/a forum, or whatever the young and professional Somalilanders
decide, to emerge.  THis will cover the need for an organised
Somaliland youth and professionals association in the United Kingdom,
whcih can act as the voice of all students and professionals who have
an active interest in Somaliland.

Please find enclosed with this email a completed programme structure
for the day and publicity fleyer.

We hope that you can join us on the day and if you have any queries do
not hesitate to contact Bashir Ali on; Mob:07947324955 and email:

As a graduate I have an interest in taking my knowledge and skills to benefit my country in the future or the Somali community and inshAllah one day I will make a great difference or contribution.

Hope this event will also inspire other Somali troubled youths especially our boys who are falling prey to the society.
