Somaliland: President opens Dilla road

BORAMA — President Ahmed Mohammed Mohamoud yesterday cut the ribbon in a ceremony opening the newly recarpeted 4km stretch of road at Dilla, in Awdal region, a part of 18km on going rehabilitation of the road.

At the same time the Head of State laid the foundation of the completion of the remaining parts of the road.

Upon reaching Dilla, the President and his large entourage were received in a hilarious reception by the officials and residents of Awdal Region.

He thanked profusely the area residents for according him such welcoming and was evidently happy in his tour.

He held various meetings with the area administrative and traditional leaders at Rays Hotel in Borama.

The President urged the people to uphold peaceful stability and stay united.

This is why I respect Awdalis unlike those horsemen near Puntland region because they invited the president to an event which was completely undertaken by Awdal community without Hargeisa's contribution. The gov did not contribute a single penny in this project, how can they when they cant even clean up the road that passes through Morgan's old house.

Silanyo should be ashamed.

  Mr Keyse out of the 12km completed so far, the goverment built the last 4km & if i am not mistaken they have pledged another 6km.
  
  I like reer Awdal they are self sufficient and hard working. Looks as if the government waxay cawinaya those that get their act togather, if you take a look at all the projects dowladu contribution so far ka geysatay have all been innitaly started by the ppl from that region….

  How did you come to say … "The gov did not contribute a single penny in this project" ?? Buurmadoobi waxeedii la soo noqotay! The 4kms that has been inaugurated by the president was built with the Gov't fund, and the President has also laid the foundation of further 8kms that will finally connect it to Borame city and this will be funded by the Gov,t. The private sector has already built about 12kms of Dilla – Borame road. Kayse, please check your resources carefully before you post your comments.

Yeah on my next trip I plan to visit Borama, no way Sanaag, I don't trust those easterners hahahaha…even though originally (like probably a century back) I was Sanaagian. Boramawis are more peaceful and friendly, no thanks to sanaag or anything south of that unless its a direct flight to Mogadishu.

Dunno why.

Anyways I give full credit to Awdal Community. Promising 8km in the final sprint is too little too late. But atleast Silanyo is better than Rayale and visited the region and acknowledge their hard work.
