When did the Somcable Project take off. I thought this project was licensed thru the Djibouti
Govt. Telecoms Ministry instead of the SL Govt. Posts & Telecoms. Ministry?. I thought this Project
was badly handled by the Rayaale Govt. and again by the Silaanyo Govt. and that the whole issue
was in disputed dilemma. Is there any body to enlighten me on this important issue?
    Cheers.

Thanks to ina Aw Saeed, but more was expected from him since a put hundreds of thousands in the pockets of politicians. This project is far more important and closer to the hearts of Somalilanders and therefore would have earned him more respect from ordinary Somaliland citizens.

As far as I know, nothing major has materialized until present. Somalilanders are still waiting to see the jobs and the boom in the economy that was promised by Somcable and its advocates.

Mr. Yusuf is this Somcable licensed and basically an international Company Thru Djibouti bringing good
business and employment opportunities to JSL and/or a locally licensed and registered SLd
Company dealing directly with the Submarine Cable Company eliminating Djibouti as the main
third party broker!. All the Commentators tend to be avoiding the problems associated with the Somcable
affairs and how it was badly handled by the Previous and current JSL Govts.
      Cheers.

They are near completing their HQ in Hargeisa and its contracted to Daryeel Construction. My cousin actually works for them and he is one of the big executives having studied abroad.

Those few and diminshing Somails, who are real literary men and women, usually of the older generations, keep sayning that original Somali language is very much an endangered language on its way to extinction these Somalis have thorough knowledge of Somali language grammar, vocabulary and literature in general. There Somali language is nothing like the Somalis spoken by the younger generations of today. Most of those older men are the ones who in fact did great contributions in writting the original Somalilanguage back in the sixties and early seventies of last century. I was pleased to see the pictures taken at the celebrations held during the festivels of launching the Somali language as wtitten language. Every one of these now old men appeared in these pictures. During my meeting with them, they all agreed that Somali language today looks very much like the streets of Mudisho and Garowe and gaalkacayo— in complete ruins. They added that the younger generations are not even aware of the that loming disaster which engulfing their Somali language. Most Somalis of today are not even aware of that.

We need to concentrate the fact of this project which carries importance to our country, and we shall refrain from words that harts the people of good will. Somcable is real and the job will start in November, 2011 Insha Allaah. Those of you who believe this company is owned by State of Djibouti, will see the reality on the ground soon.

Mr.Aw Said is a true Patriot and will create thousands of job for the young Somalilanders. He is someone who believe in Somaliland and will continue to support wherever he sees the need. I personally do not know him, but I have enough information about him.

I agree with everyone who is contributing to Somaliland progress, I do not care where he is from or where he gets his money from as long as She or he contributes to the well-being of Somalilanders.

My question is what happens if Somcable does not start running the project by the end of November 2011?

The country needs this project start running as soon as possible and if does not get going by the end of November, I think the contract should be awarded to somebody else.

Thumbs down to the Somcable project. The controls governing regulations thru a second party broker Djibouti with Somaliland becoming basically marketing third party liability services..well that satisfies
the SLD Govt. and its people then in such case so be it..who cares.
    Cheers.
