Somaliland: Preparation for Eid Ul-Fitr (Eid) Begins

HARGEISA (SomalilandPress)—Resident of Hargeisa the capital of Somaliland has began the preparations for upcoming of Eid-ul-Fitr as the end of Ramadan gets closer. Even with the price hikes merchants are demanding and inflation Eid shoppers are flocking to the city’s markets as they begin buying garments, shoes, sweets and other goods.

Merchants started to decorate their shops with illuminating lights and other colorful decors in order to attract eager shoppers ready to shop. SomalilandPress reporter Shiine Elmi Kahin will be reporting from different parts of the capital the next few days as we get closer to Eid-ul-Fitr. Somalilandpress will be bringing our readers pictures of Hargeisa city shopping areas and some of the hottest items that consumers will be looking to buy.

Eid Ul-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month when Muslim fast from dawn to sunset. On Eid day Muslim gather with friends and family after Eid prayer at which time they feast and exchange gifts.

    Mashallah what nice pictures :) I am glad to see people back home are still managing to enjoy themselves, the holy month as well as the Eid festivities despite the drought and other regional calamities. Allah(swt) is PEACE and from only him does true peace come from.

    Hate to rain on anyone's parade, but we still have a few more days of Ramadan left. Who knows lalatul Qadir might be tonight or the next few days. Don't miss out while partying for Eid kkkk :)

    May Allah(swt) continue to shower his blessings upon Somaliland and bring peace once more to the south.

    There is a lot of excitement and happiness shown in their faces. Alhamdulilah praise be to Allah for the God-given peace, they can now enjoy EID :) :)
