Somaliland: Police commander gunned down again in Las Anod

Las Anod (SomalilandPress)—The commander of the Central Investigative Unit (CID) of Sool Mr. Mohamud Mohamed Hirsi was gunned down today in the city of Las Anod and also wounded his deputy Mr. Arab Warsame. Mr. Hirsi was the head of CID unit of the Somaliland police in Sool region after the previous commander was also gunned down by the SSC terrorist group.
The assailants have not been arrested and the police are on their track according to an officer who did not want to disclose his name due to the sensitivity of the case. It was last August when the commander of Special Police Unit (SPU) of Sool region Mr. Abdi Isse Nour was gunned down as he was leaving his home after breaking fasting during the month of Ramadan.
This evening’s terror act is believed to be behind by the local terrorist group SSC who are known to carry out such a terrorist acts on Somaliland officials in the region. On another note Somaliland forces once again refuted a surprise attack by a joint SSC militia and Puntland forces in the village of Ganbadhe 25km south of Las Anod. According to our reporter Libah Ahmed in Las Anod Somaliland forces in the front line were attacked by SSC militia and Puntland forces early in the morning hours. Somaliland army countered the attacking militia and captured two vehicles and sixteen prisoners of war from them.

Are we going to let this murderers attack Somaliland every time, while we continue to lay down olive branches. I think the government of Somaliland had been very patient long enough trying to safe guard peace and promote brotherly coexistence. It seems, these people who delibrately attack us, should receive equal treatment. Those terorrist should be treated like they deserve to be treated. We shouldnt be releasing them, for we know they will just return to attack as again. It is time their elders take some responsibility and stop this none sense. The Gravity of this ongoing barbaric attacks by the enemies of the Somaliland Sovereignity is really hurting
and unless the Govt. gets serious enough with retaliatory tough measures painfully punishing the perpetrators

Second patience of somaliland government is too much,, where ever, they are those killers must end up behind bars, in addition to that pirate gangs should not feel safe in their homes.
Keep in mind somaliland will be a target of pirates and terrorist organisations in east Africa, Puntland pirates invested millions in boosaaso and garoowe and they will see somaliland as a threat to them since somaliland is fully part of the war on terror and Somali pirates.
I blame the CID and the police, they should be more secretive and protected, they walk around a hostile neighborhoods with qat and a can of Coca cola. Of course someone will target them. They CID needs to be kept secret and operate amongs the people and collect information, their identity should be hiden and the office in las Anod has to be removed so the people think there is no CID.
I agree with Yonis, our CID must understand that they need to remain anonymous and not tell everyone about their task. In the mean time condolances to his family and the CID unit.
The government of Somaliland must seek International Warrant to be issued against those Americans who run this SSC & Shabaab terrorist. Ministry of Foreign Affairs is requested to initial this action. We cannot carry olive branch forever and see our galant soldiers died every other day. This is unacceble in any know law of this planet, and USA should play effective role in this saga.
The people of Somaliland will not tolerate this barbaric action by SSC and its affiliators Shabaab who last week admitted that they send troops to SSC to fight the envidals i.e. Somaliland government and Ethiopia. If this is not stoped it will definately reach unproposional and spell to the Ethiopians who it seems playing double standards.
This is unacceptable and directly blaming somaliland's foreign affairs ministry, they should have direct contact with the Americans and UK because it is widely known that these terrorist networks openly operate in London and Columbus Ohio.

Somaliland is facing terrorism, and the worst thing we can do is give in. One thing the terrorist don't understand is that someone will always take the place of every fallen hero. We must realize that these terrorists will not listen to reason, they only know one thing, brute force, and they have to be met with a united front and strong will. It is time for this government to understand that you cannot negotiate with terrorist, you can only confront them, remain strong and united. Al Shabab fighters have arrived in Sool and Buhoodle town. I have the full information and this could be one of their acts. Al Shabab is backing the SSC terrorists, they called Somaliland "Ethiopian lovers and kafirs" and vowed they would "assist other Muslims". They are weirdos and should be wiped out.
Somaliland needs to conduct more intelligence in Sool and surrounding area and tap all the telephone lines including cell phones which they can easily do. The US and the UK are both happy to assist.
Somaliland's security is UK's security, UK's security is USA's security.
The groups (SSC and al shabaab) are big security threat they both dont like the new foreign policy and the Western aid that Somaliland is getting.
Somaliland needs to send more undercover agents to the region and should be kept secret even from ministers. Only the President and the CID chairman should know them.
Somalilanders are renowned with peace and brotherhood, in respect to their neighbors and other countries in the world. But if our security and territorial integrity is threatened, we don't have option but to defend on a merciless grounds. I can say vehemently, somaliland is the only country that practices democracy, negotiations, and just in East Africa, which are basic elements for human being to co-exist. So if that is not enough to our stakeholders we have full package of options on our tables to choose among.
I also feel obliged to show a great debt of gratitude to the sons and daughters in uniform who re ready to defend our borders and our people.

A simple base of tribalism in Somalia that has left the country without government since 1991 is defined in this proverb :
'Me against my brother, me and my brother against our father, our family against our clan, our clan against our tribe, our tribe against our nation, and our nation against the world'.
Now , even if we have to split the country into small tribal enclaves, we will not have peace as we will have to fight each other till we come to the stage " Me against my brother " !!!!!!
Regadless of what side of the coin people speak for, this is useless wars. In my opinion, the what caused the conflicts are some of these reasons:
Dhulbahante wants Somali unity and considered any soldier on their land as another Somali clan accupying their land. Somaliland's administration failed to get the supports of the local Dhulbahante and seem to be putting sub-clan against another under the excuses of Somaliland border controll. People in Sool never fully participated Somaliland's action including elections and never considered the break away as a solution. Somaliland's administration is trying to secure what they called a British border with only having self appointed individuals from Sool. The only solution is first take all Soldiers out of their region and then let them decide to join Somaliland or Somalia on their own. Securing Somaliland border is same as people in the South coming to Burco and Hargisa to secure Somalia border, gari laba nin kama wada qosliso dadkan hala nabad galiyo.
