The Second General Assembly of Somaliland Non-State Actors Forum (SONSAF) was held at Ambassador Hotel, Hargeisa, Somaliland from 25th -28th September 2010.
Delegates representing constituent elements of SONSAF:

· The Private sector
· Civil society
· The Professionals
· Elders and religious associations

And observers from non-member organizations, associations and networks as well as Saferworld – the partner of SONSAF were also present.

Over the past four days the General Assembly has reflected and deliberated on the successes and challenges of the past two years, discussed the concept of Non-State Actors and the importance of NSAs involvement in policy dialogue with government and international donors. We have reviewed, amended and rectified the constitution of SONSAF and we have elected a new Board of Directors (BoD)

Announcement:
As the new chairman of the new BOD, I would like to say that we are proud to have contributed to the recently concluded Presidential Election process in Somaliland, which we believe clearly demonstrated the strong commitment of our people to peace, democracy and development. As SONSAF, we are confirm our commitment to work with the Somaliland government and all other actors that work for the benefit of all Somalilanders.

Appreciations
I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome the members of the new BOD. I also like to congratulate GA members for the active participation and successful conclusion of the process. I also like to thank participants of other observer organizations/associations for their constructive contributions and finally, I like to thank Saferworld, the EC and DFID for their support to SONSAF and the success of this General Assembly.
