Muj Hassan Ciise Jaamac in an important interview about his upbringing, early militantism, academic career, role in SNM creation, point of view about last presidential election, hopes about upcoming municipal election…Xasan Ciise touched on his past veiled support for the candidacy of Silanyo and why he subsequently decided to create Xaqsoor. Xasan Ciise dwells on the early popular disappointment with the Kulmiye administration. Talked about his priorities and his decade old vision for Somaliland. Hassan Cise emphasized about the need for an inclusive administration opposed to an overly partisan political scene. Muj Hassan Ciise talking about the need to engage intellectuals and the youth which makes up the vast majority of Somaliland population. Xassan Ciise rightly points out that Xaqsoor was the only political party that presented his political program at his launching ceremony and that the party hosted a two debate on his proposals.
On the Somaliland-Somalia discussion, Muj Hassan Ciise reminded Cawke that he is in full support for these talks and the he was the first politician to advocate the need for Somaliland to participate in international conferences about Somalia in order to advocate on behalf of Somaliland recognition about international stakeholders.
Elections are about choice and campaigns about contrast. Cawke interviewed several leaders for his
“Gudoomiyaaga Baro” series and in all honesty Xasan Ciise came across as the most knowledgeable, competent and sincere.
For example, Xasan Ciise was the only leader to correctly answer when asked about the names of the current Ethiopian president and Djibouti prime minister and the last British governor of Somaliland Independence Day.
