Response to the mourned the death of Gaarriye’s Monologues: Gaarriye deserved best award as a result of his passion for relationship with the students and public. His friendly personality and upbeat demeanor was an evident in Somaliland as he was one of the nationalist of the nation that worked hard to win public support for the agitation across the country.

Because Gaarriye was also one of those song-writers that started the composition of the famous “silsiladihii Deelayda and Seenlay” the literary struggle machine tools that was used against for more than decades the notorious Siyaad Barre’s rules in the eighties of last century committed the worst genocides against our Somaliland people. Pervasive legacy –of the history of this country that Gaarriye hats incumbent presidents, including alike Faqish Siad Barre and been sent guarded missiles of poetry messages to that Faqish -Leader till ended up his death exile in Nigeria.

 

He-shared with other Somaliland shakespeareism in Somali poetry especially with his close friend Hadraawi who also his poems were against the Siad Barre’s ill treatment of his fellow Somalilanders. Along with his many legendary and  unforgettable national liberation poets like Abdi Qays, Hassan Ganey and Ali Benfas. Though, later Abdi Qays has deviated during Arta_Djibouti Somalia Conference to unification of Somaliwayen direction due to the material objectives.

even personal weddings and charities events, who also had many times steered the debate for

millions of viewers at home about burning issues in politics, social and economic

 Unique Personality Traits

AS prof. Abdi Ali Jama wrote on this Mourning, “as lecturer of university of Hargeisa, Gariye was my colleague. He was great poet, educated and knowledgeable.  He was learned, intellectual, erudite and well-read. Abdi Qays and Hassan Ganey are great poets, knowledgeable and wise but not educated at least in the formal sense of the word, but unlike Hadrawi and Gariye, they are local pure philosophers and artists.”

 

Also, one of his childhood friend and classmate student in Sheikh Secondary School

in early 70′s – “Khader  Degalleh Said ” revealed that he was reading always so faint

perceptible, obscure books and publications but included useful and informative

literature contents wasn’t known to the public nor available in the country market

books, instead of engaging with activities such as sport and other characteristic of

youth stage of social streams, he exposed to the public as mature persona in early

days of his personal lives.

 

 

 

  Memorable Legacy of Gaariiye.

Provided poetry for a society that needed wisdom most: Somaliland poet and playwright widely regarded as the greatest writer in the Somali language and pre-eminent dramatist. He is often called his legacy will remain as imagery of crisp wordings of poetry and high quality persuasive speech ideas of poet PERSONA!

It’s easy to say that he is not less popularity than Vaclav Havel the playwright and leading dissident against Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia and then-president in honor of the first post-communist president of Czechoslovakia and the independent Czech Republic.
