HARGEISA (SomalilandPress)—The shopping centers in Hargeisa the capital of Somaliland is seeing a booming business in the last few days as residents begin preparation of Eid Al-Adha shopping spree. With the dollar soaring and merchants hiking their goods as demand goes up residents are still shopping with smile as they buy all sorts of goods, garments, shoes and sweets.

One such shop that is taking advantage of the holiday shopping spree and offering the shoppers a discounted price is Nanies Super Store located in JigJiga Yare district. According to the owner of the shop Mr. Ahmed Dhego whom SomalilandPress had the pleasure of visiting his super market, business has been doing well as parents and the professionals in the area have been buying his product. Mr. Ahmed goes on to say that his prices are unbeatable compare to the rest because he personally imports his goods from China thus cutting out the extra price that a middle wholesaler would charge. Lower prices are not the only thing that Nanies Super Store offers its shoppers says Mr. Ahmed, “I personally handpicked these garment that you see in the store in order to give my clients the latest style for their money”. Mr. Ahmed goes on to say that his store is offering 50% discount on most of the items for the holiday shopping and also that his store hours have been extended during the holiday shopping.

Eid Mubaarak. Don't you think that we should be making the things people import from China. We should not be importing the finished goods from abroad but only the machinery to make those things in our own land. We can easily raise the capital needed to build medium sized factories and create a lot of job opportunities for our people whilst making a tidy profit.
