Somaliland: Former Governor of Maroodi Jeeh has been Released

Hargeisa-A Court in Hargeisa has ordered the immediate released two former government officials who were tried for corruption charges of diverting food aid for their own personal benefit for lack of substantial evidence.

Mr. Ahmed Omar Haji Abdilahi a.k.a Harmaji the former regional governor of Maroodi Jeeh region and the former director General at the ministry of Rehabilitation Mr. Ahmed Elmi Barre were released by a court of Appeal magistrate Hon. Abdirahman Jama Hayaan .

The state prosecutor when asked how he views the court decision said it was unsatisfactory and that he will be contesting the court of Appeal decision.

The released official had earlier been sentenced to three years each by a court in Hargeisa for corruption charges.

The former governor of Maroodi jeeh upon his release said the law has taken its course and that he had expected the decision taken by the court since he was innocent since day one.

Mr. Mohamud Abdirahman the defense lawyer representing the two freed officials has also welcomed the verdict.

This is LAW as it is observed in it's purest form. Where a man is innocent or where the law cannot proof a case against him then he is awarded his freedom. The process seems to need an overhaul where there are gaps or conflicts. I wouldn't call it the best in the world nor can i say it is without flaws however i can SAY with certainty a MAN stand a better chance to receive JUSTICE in Somaliland Republic then anywhere else in Africa.

South Africa the most advanced democratic State has the HIGHEST murder rate and Rape rate considering it's wealth and it's standing in the IC.

Somaliland is the closest Republic to a LAWFUL Democratic Republic in the whole of the AFRICAN continent.
