Somaliland has finally spoken. It says it is ready to participate in the international efforts aimed at easing the suffering of the starving Somali people who are experiencing what the UN has described as the worst humanitarian disaster.

As welcome as this step may be, many conscientious Somalilanders, and other Somalis as well, may see it as too little too late.

As the world, moved by the unimaginable extent of human suffering caused by drought and war in Somalia, rushed to secure shelter, food, medicine and comfort for the tens of thousands of barely walking human skeletons arriving Mogadishu and Somalia’s neighboring countries, Somaliland decided to watch the unfolding catastrophe of its kin and kith with shameless indifference.

[ad#Google Adsense (336x280)]

For almost a month since the UN officially declared famine in the regions of Bakool and Lower Shabelle of Southern Somalia on July 20, 2011, starving Somalis trekked to neighboring Kenya and Ethiopia while tens of thousands were internally displaced in Mogadishu and elsewhere.

All this time, Somaliland authorities stayed silent. They even failed to issue a statement expressing their grief for the pain and suffering of the Somali people. No one expected Somaliland to airlift relief supplies to Somalia but everyone expected and wished if they could show some sort of solidarity with their brethren such as expressing their readiness to receive starving Somalis fleeing from war and drought to the peaceful land.

In a situation where the UN says one child dies every six minutes, Somaliland should have been the first to be shocked by the tragedy of the Somali mothers burying their emaciated children one after the other as they walk to seek help. It should have been the first to mobilize the world, the first to open its ports and airports for international aid, the first to share their meager resources with their famished fellow Somalis.

But the Somaliland administration waited for Ambassador Augustine Mahiga, The UN Special Representative for Somalia, to visit them in Hargeisa and appeal to them to help their Somali brethren.

And now after the entire world has rushed to the rescue of the Somali people, and after the entertainment and sports celebrities launched the Bob Marley campaign under the title ‘I’m Gonna Be Your Friend’ which is expected to reach a global audience of over 700 million in Facebook and Twitter, Somaliland authorities saw the opportunity to jump on the bandwagon and get their share of the limelight and international focus.

Somaliland has missed a golden opportunity to reach out to their fellow Somalis, to heal the wounds of the past and to build bridges of future cooperation and brotherhood, an opportunity to pause and reflect on the realities around them; and above all Somaliland has missed an opportunity to prove to the Somali people and to the world at large that the peace and stability of Somaliland is more boon than bane for the Horn of Africa.

  1. I Jama says:

If you give Somaliland that much credit then it must have surpassed the TFG who have been struggling to curp this famine which is worst then the one that hit it 60 years ago according to the UN. Even with the help of AMISOM, IGAD and UA.

Somaliland has always been helping behind the scenes as it is the neighbouring country but it has been fighting famine in certain areas too. Now that the recent rains have eased the drought that affected it has come to their Aid too. So I give them my salute for keeping the peace, stability as well as Aiding its bros and its own.

this bashir inna goth guy trainee reporter or what ever is being bais and insulting our beloved Somaliland (viva) and he comes for chips (No1 chat) traitor don't want to see you there ever again you being kick out unofficailly. Hey mister what do know about Hargeisa and djbouti Somaliland we have being helping somali from the south for the past 4 5 years there is about 1.5 million refuges from Moqadishu and surrounding areas in somaliland and about 700'000 in Djbouti so get facts correct before asuming the opposit. thank you very much while puntland deports somali migarating cause of hungary when their got billions from haram pirating piracy buuaatd badaed

  2. Jim says:

I admire your sentiments, Brother Bashir, but I can't blame the Somalilanders for keeping quiet. Mahiga and his sort don't listen to the general population in any event, and don't listen to Somalilanders very often either. He dances to the UN/US/UK/IGAD/AU tune. Kenyan, Ethiopian and Ugandan government input is valued more than Somaliland input. But don't you see that the UN policies over the past few years are at the heart of the famine.

You remember well that the TFG govt was a railroad job hatched in Djibouti and the UN forced it on the Southern Somalis. Abdilahi Yussef had failed and exited. The West wanted a "moderate Islamist" to head the government in Mogadishu. The UN/US thinking was extremely shallow. That decision in Djibouti in the last days of the Bush administration (packing the Parliament) gave life to the Jihadists, and I warned the acting US Ambassador at the time, the same Jihadists that have exacerbated the drought and famine conditions in the worst ways. The US position has always been focused on real or potential terrorists, US security considerations, so humanitarian assistance took a back seat in all regions of the Somali territories. It is my understanding that thousands of "internally displaced people" and refugees from other parts of the Somali territories found a safe haven in Somaliland. I am happy that Somaliland can offer any assistance to the brothers and sisters and children from the South. Would that they had more resources to share.

  3. Ahmed says:

It is never too late to extend your hand to the needy. We should reinforce the good behaviours. The action of the vice president, should be applouded. I know pple of Somaliland, including the top corporate leaders have been donating money since last january. Refugees from Somalia have been allowed to come and settle in Somaliland. even the diaspora of Somaliland have been active in donating and raising awareness re the famine in Somalia. However, i hope that also the other somali regions engage in the efforts aimed at reliefing the starvation in the horn of africa

  4. Abraham says:

Dear Bashir, Somaliland is not as rich or secure or capable as much of the rest of the World. The drought affected Somaliland as much as it affected the South, but because of our stablility its effects were mitigated and the victims helped. The international community had access to every part of our country and that is way the drought did not turn nasty in Somaliland. Moreover, Somaliland does not need to open its doors to the victims of the drought as our doors and borders were never closed to them. In other words we have an open border with Somalia and people come and settle in Somaliland all the time.

  5. abdi says:

Constructive Criticism is always welcomed, this is the true essence of Somaliland's freedom of expression where people can be listened to even if we don't agree.

  6. Daahir says:

Help is never too late, but i agree with the writer that Somaliland's attitude toward the rest of Somalia has been separate your self from the rest of them and treat the internally displaced people as a refugees foreigners and not people who fled from some part of Somalia to another part of Somalia. The focus of Somaliland has been getting recognition and they have been trying very hard to explain to the world that they are Somalilanders and not Somalis. It may even be a political move to say we will help Somalia since Somaliland has nothing to offer nevertheless the drought victims will appreciate any help they can get from anyone.

  7. Guled says:

When disasters like this occure, politics should be put aside.

  8. Raage says:

Mr. Goth, with hesitation I applaud your article. Regardless of whether who the disfranchised or hungry community is, it is a basic human feeling to come to the aid of another human being in distress. I would love to use a magic wand and make these horrible experiences go away, but the reality is that there are multiple factors and more powerful forces in play here, be it Ethiopia, USA, UN, Kenya, Al-shabaab. And I have to say that when the people of Somaliland were being slaughtered by the people of the South, no one cared, so if the people and the government of Somaliland responded late to the on-going tragedy in Somalia, we have a right to be so. After all, Somalis from Somalia killed 65,0000 plus innocent Somalilanders.

    • Iman says:

May I remind you we were ALL apart of Somalia at the time of the tragic massacre and Barre's regime was made up of more than just people from the south and he also KILLED more than just people from the north

    • omar says:

Raage don't be arrogant to that level saaxiib its insane and naive to say somalis from the south killed 65,000 somalilanders as if all the southerners were responsible for the 1988 massicre. It was the military regime of siad Barre that committed that crime. It sickens me when i see or hear people with mentality like yours you are just another brainwashed lunatic bro. God forgive you

  9. Kayse says:

Somaliland is poor nation and its already stretched to the limits by its own population and the 250,000 and so refugees it is hosting from Somalia. The reason Somaliland has not jumped to this bandwagon is simply because every time Somaliland tells the world, it needs help with the hundreds of thousands of displaced Somalis from Somalia, it goes unanswered.

Mahiga never told Somaliland to help, he was in Hargeisa to spread rumors and mistrust amongst the Somalis.

While Mr Goth might have some valid points–he also took the chance to attack all Somalilanders not only the gov. I do not trust man ever since his uncle Riyale lost election he has been on some tantrums.

Somaliland is not United States, we are sharing the little we have no need to cry about it.

  10. saddam says:

mr goth better late than never.brother raage, sometimes we should try to forget the past even though its very hard. you forgive in order to forget.

  11. Gobaad says:

I totally agree with you Mr. Raage. I was about to make a similar comment, but I will keep it short. What is happening in Somalia and the images of children and elderly is really heart breaking. But it really makes me furious when people say why don't Somaliland help their brothers and sisters. When did we become brothers and sister? Only when it suits you, only think you are in need, only when it benefits you? Where were you, when the fighter jets were taking off from Hargeisa Airport and unleash heavy weapons on city and its people and why were you silent? Where were you when the enemy within were looting the livelihood of innocent people escaping with their lives were targeted and indiscrminately killed and why were you silent?

Any ways, intaasina waa intaannu idinka gobaysan nahay eennu idinka dadnimo wanaagsan nahay!!!

  12. warya says:

People also need to understand that Somaliland's infrastructure isn't strong enough to handle an additional influx of IDPs. Somaliland is still struggling to take care of all of the old IDPs not to mention the increasing inflow of Oromo and other regional groups. Now combine these factors with the all the challenges faced by the local population – water shortages and limited funds due to lack of recognition, and you get a really tough situation. Regardless, however, I still agree with Mr. Goth for pointing out the obvious truth. Somaliland should have been at the forefront in dealing with the current crisis taking place in the south.

  13. Jay says:

This people (Somalia) even looted our roofs and water, no need to stress out about them. Lets focus on making Somaliland stronger. We have our own issues.

  14. CIMRAN C says:

If you visit most cities in Somaliland you will find a sizable communities from Somalia. And they are increasing by the day. In hargeisa the southern Somalis are almost one third of the population. Their numbers are also increasing in Burao and Borame. They come and go as they please. No restrictions were put on their way. Somaliland's silent support is not small. This country provides a save heaven and treats southerns as its own citizens and our boarders and doors are wide open for them. our schools, Markets ,hospitals and society are all there to to help. What we get at every turn instead people like the writer trying to score political points. By the way isn't pontland part of Somalia? aren't they supposed to help their brothers! Why the writer didnot mention anything about its pirates who are doing havoc to the existance of the Somali people.

  15. Yusuf says:

Mr. Bashir always finds a way to criticise Somaliland, even when they do the right thing. He forgot that Somalilanders are making contributions to ease the suffering of the Somalia people. Somalilandes weather in the country or in the diaspora do more than their share in easing the suffering of their fellow Somalis. They donate money generously and even welcome the refugees into their cities and towns. Dahabshiil company alone has donated $100000.

On the other hand, in the 1980s when Somalilander women and children sought refugee in Mogadishu they were humiliated, intimidate and insulted. Just compare this to what Somalilanders are doing for the people of Somalia.

I think both Somaliland government and people are doing their best to help the people from Somalia and it is unfair to treat them this way.

  16. akademiga says:

we owe you nothing. You should look onto your warlords who are blocking the attempts of the rest of the world in providing aid and instead raping your women and killing innocent children. The same that was being done to our women and children and maiming our men, blocking food and supplies when your demented warlord set upon on trying to wipe the Issaqs out.
    memories are long.

  17. Somaliland wadani says:

I never understand basher goth.I read articles of him praising somaliland during riyaale time but now he gone back to 1960 somalia union.he smart person in general but in he’s sell out it.It good to care about other somalis but if their so called government in mogadishu which is legitament government for somalia what have they done besides tribalistic politics.Mr goth I dont agree with u cause I think ur own agenda is trabalistic so please come up with better excuse for ur treason behavior.

  18. amal says:

I'm appalled by this article to be honest. Somaliland is a poor country who is also affected by the drought yet decided to stretch her hands and give whatever they can whilst they have been hosting the refugees from Somalia for a long time without any restriction. Somalilanders alongside other southern Somalis all over the world were busy donating and collecting money for drought hit Somalia and have been very concern and sadden about the situation too. Who said it's too late? Somalia is in the midst of worst situation now and regardless of whether they have the world's attention or not Somaliand is doing its bit. Allah who was there for us in the 80's will be there for them now inshAllah.

  19. Wadani somaliland says:

Basher goth if your true traitor to somaliland ur people dont come back keep writing u articles for xamar sake cause I believe the faqash must paid for your education because if u had any logic sense u would know somaliland has done right thing from the start it.Somaliland will not let some basher goth and abdi samater and ahmed samater all u faqash so called educated exiled croneys tarnish somaliland adievements in conflict suations we have done all we can for somalilans who didnt care two cents when sayid barre masscared issaqs people xamar folks was still partyin in disco clubs sleepin with prositutes.

  20. Boqoljireh says:

Bashir Goth ha loogu dhaarto in Somaliland aanay ahayn Somalia.

Why brother Bashir did not blame Djibouti for that matter? They are not Somalis too? Because there is no IDP in Dila, he may not know how much Wanlaweyn IDP we have in Somaliland and how free they are in our country. Bashir we have been together and fighting for Somaliland when President Riyaale was in helm, what make you changed so drastically? How much we can trust you and alike? I thought you know better how our people have been maimed and masacred, and yet you blame the good-hearted Somalilanders who did not retaliate of what they have experienced.

I wonder why my countryman Mr. Goth is continuously blaming the government of Somaliland for anything even such unrealistic accusation of Somaliland ignored their bretherens.

  21. Yusuf says:

Although I disagree with Bashir in this instance, I am against calling him a traitor or some one who sold out his ppl. Bashir is a real Somalilander, who called Rayale to step-down at least a year before the elections in Somaliland. Yes, we can all disagree with each other, but as Somalilanders we must treat each other with civility and respect. We do not call our own a Faqash.

Bashir, also needs to take into consideration the hard times and the suffering that Somalilanders went through during the decades it suffered under Somalia dictatorship, oppression, genocide and ethnic cleansing.

    Ramadan Karim to you all!

    • mahamoud says:

how dare u disagree with him,he tells what happens in somalia. And the suffering of the people in somalia because of the drought and every people who watch can feel it.

      • Yusuf says:

        My dear Mohamoud,

I think you did not get my point and even if you did you can not tell me who I should agree or disagree with. The point I was making was that Mr. Goth was not fair to either the Somaliland government or the Somaliland people, when he blames them with procrastination.

Please do not play the humanity card, for you are not the only person touched by the sufferings of the victims of drought and war in Somalia. Just stay on the topic and do not act like a Somalia politician. The Somalia politicians chase their tails and jump from one topic to another, and that is way we do not see a solution to their chronic problems.

Finally, I am not in position to play your game. End it right there!

  22. OMAR says:

I agree with Gobaad and Raage.

Incidentally, have you noticed that he uses the "loaded" phrases , such as "Somaliland Administration" and "Somaliland Authority" , in lieu of "Somaliland Government" ?

  25. Daahir says:

Mr Bashir Goth, what have you contributed? Nothing. At least those of us (Somalilanders) living in the UK have contributed every penny we could have spare both through Television appeals & through Mosques up and down the country.

  26. middlepath says:

Somaliland was always helping since the 90s. What else do the refugees live on besides the hospitality and security provided by the people of Somaliland?Even after what their country Somalia has inflicted on their cities a few years back.

Unlike neighbouring Puntland, refugees in Somaliland are not raped or looted or harmed..hardly!! There is law and order and protection even for refugees and you ask us what did Somaliland do?

Do we conveniently forget the day when a PLANE-LOAD full of Somalis were DEPORTED from Saudi Arabia and was prevented from landing onto Puntland airport and then it was allowed to land in Hargeisa's Airport after being rejected? Is Puntland not Somalia? Why did you Mr Bashir not complain about this blatant crime against Somalis in Puntland against other Somali Refugees?

I think it is utterly unjust to deny the good that the Independent Nation of Somaliland has done, considering that they want to be a separate Country that has little to nothing to do with the Mogadishu Capital.

    .

  27. middlepath says:

Somaliland wants to be separate and yet it remembers to help droughts/people in Somalia. ____Somalis wants Somaliland and yet they do not care about the droughts /people in Somaliland. The irony!____If anything Somalilanders just like on 1960 when they gave up their independence and freedom, they prove yet again that they have more Somalinimo in them than all of the Somalia population put together

  28. middlepath says:

Somaliland always helped since the 90s.

So Mr Goth, what do you call the time when Somaliland people and its Government allowed a PLANE-LOAD full of Somalis DEPORTED from Saudi Arabia to land in Hargeisa's Airport after it was PREVENTED from landing on Puntland soil. Is Puntland not Somalia? Where is your condemnation? Where is the condemnation of Somalis aginst this blatant crime? What about the raping and looting of Refugees in Puntland? Silence?
Where was Somalinimo when Somaliland was sufferring its droughts? Is Somalia about give me only, don't take any?

What I want to ask you Mr Goth and anyone who tries to dare question the Somalinimo and Islamnimo of the Somaliland people is, 'Is Somalinimo only remembered when Mogadishu is in Danger?' If you say no, then where was the response from Somalia when Somaliland needs help.

What did Somalia do for us so far, nothing except stopping us from reaching our goals to independence and development, which even the refugees will BENEFIT from. Shameful?. Definitely.

  29. abdi says:

The problem is you can not blame Somaliland for this nor the poor Somali women and children in this situatuion.
It wasn't the people of Somaliland who looted destroyed Mogudishu and Southern Somalia in the past 20 years. It was Hawiye, Southern Darood and Rhawywen who were doing this to each other and their women and children.

Our leaders, elders, and educated members came together as brothers and united the people of Somaliland and brought trust to one another.

The people of Somaliland told the UN, AU and EU how Somalia should be sorted out but they chose to work with criminals in Southern for their own purpose.

It wasn't the people of Somaliland who went around conferences in other foreign countries to fight over presidency and keep benefiting from the suffering of their own people.

We said from the begining to the international community let the people of Southern Somalia sort out their own problems.

  30. Gobaad says:

Bashir Goth has never shied away from attacking and criticizing Isaaq time again. He played neurtral all the time that his uncle was in power and never utter a word for all the wrong thing he was doing. And now attacking the Somaliland government for not responding to drought engulfed Somalia soon enough forgetting or playing down what we went through in hands of all Somalis including the enemies within.

Saying that "… Somaliland authorities saw the opportunity to jump on the bandwagon and get their share of the limelight and international focus …" is an out right and a bold face lies. And of all people not Somalia but Somaliland merely response is for a humanitarian issue because we could not consciously watch the heart-rending images splashed around the world. If anybody seeks attention for the wrong reason, it is Bashir Goth himself!

    • Sabrine says:

" forgetting or playing down what we went through in hands of all Somalis including the enemies within."
What the hell does that even mean.. Did these poor babies starving to death do anything to you. Why are you stuck on the politics of 20+ years ago??? Forget Somalinimo, you are clearly lacking humanity.

  31. Gacaliye says:

Support like any other Somali without any politics attached or don't at all. And it is wicked of you to use this tragedy as an opportunity to advance your unnecessary and baseless secessionist agenda. Very sad indeed!

Rural people in Waqooyi Galbeed are losing livestock at the same rate as Bakool region and if you sincere about helping Somalis, help those starving on your own backyard.

Qabyaalddu meel xun bay idinka gaartay.

    • AQANI says:

GACALIYE, its so TRUE but let me remind you Qabyaalada waa nalgu DILAY, magaalooyinkayagii ba laguu BUR-BURIYA, just because ….people tried to erase our history and continue to deny our struggles/Successes just because of "QABIL". Do you see the logic?

  32. Gacaliye says:

    As to Keyse,

You misunderstand the concept of Machiavellianism. I think you need to educate yourself more about politics.

  33. Hargeisawi-In-London says:

Yes, the peace and stability of Somaliland is more BANE than BOON for those who harbor hatred towards Somaliland.

I can't, for the life of me, fathom how peace and stability can be bane for anyone — I am referring to a decent human being.

  34. Hargeisawi-In-London says:

    @Gacaliye,

For the last 21 years, we have been doing way more than our share in the way of helping your people: there are over 500,000 of your people in our towns. The UN does not pay for their education, health, security, etc; neither Ina Goth does! So, who pays for all of these services? You tell me!

Perhaps, you should get your facts right before you use abusive names.

  35. Kayse says:

No need to attack Bashir and call him a traitor for simply expressing his view. This is not very Somaliland nor civil, I urge you to think before you time emotional comments.

Bashir does have some valid points like I said and very soon Somaliland is going to become a powerful nation in the region so it has to act right and be humble.

We did wait bit too long to respond to South Somalia's crying children. At least lets send two or three Daallo airlines to those regions most affected and get maybe 80 children to Somaliland so aid agencies can help them. Aid agencies can not access these regions due to security…if we bring them to Somaliland, they will have greater access and security.

  36. Ali907 says:

Bashir Goth seem to listen too much to western propaganda and believe in it. At least there are no strings attached when we help people from Somalia and we've doing this quietly without outside help for twenty odd years now. I wonder if Bashir still remembers Operation Restore Hope?

  37. Istahil says:

Bravo Mr Goth. people bashir is true somaliland child. not only he is smart but very good for the leader of our countery….im sayin Mr goth for president for next election…manshaa allah he is smart somali. people we all somalis eventhough our countery is somaliland but as a people we somalis…..Mr Goth is true somalilander.

  38. ahmed says:

Mr. Bashir goth, Somaliland goverment and somaliland people have help during difficult time in Somali. in good example Somaliland help Somali who came to Somaliland for help

  39. middlepath says:

@ Gacaliye, The drought-hit people in Waqooyi Galbeed have been helped and saved thanks to Allah. Where was your so-called Somalinimo? and where was the Somalia/TFG etc.? The hypocrisy!

You see, we have something called a 'Functioning Government'' in Somaliland which is useful, and a caring people who help themselves when they can without asking a penny from either Somalia or anyone.

  40. Las Anod Boy says:

Protect the human rights of fellow somalilanders living in Sool, instead of talking about helping others!

  41. layla says:

It is truly a dark place when people say they have experienced so much pain that they longer feel compassion. I am saddened by some of the comments I have heard from fellow Somalilanders. I don’t understand how people, individuals can feel no compassion for the events in Somalia. Living here in Somaliland i have heard some comments as harsh as ‘it serves them rights for what they did to us’ my reply is what did the 5 year old child who died of starvation ever do to you. This is not about politics, or them and us this is about humanity and saving innocent lives. As fellow Muslims and even closer of the same race, culture, heritage and as neighbours it is a duty upon us to help, however we can. I feel the same pain for a suffering child in Gaza, Pakistian, Somalia or any Muslim world and if humanity cannot bind us together Islam should make us one Ummah (body)

  42. layla says:

My advice to fellow Somalilanders, is don’t let hate eat you up so much that you can no longer feel love or compassion, and please don’t paint everyone with the same brush..them poor dying women and children did not harm you so if you can’t do anything for them at least make dua and pray for them because it by the will of Allah they are in such situation and its only by his Almighty Grace that they can come out of that nightmare. This life is nothing but a test for the believer and i pray Allah (SWT) gives all those suffering around the world the strength to overcome the challenges, obstacles and tests they face.

  43. Ismail says:

If you guys would pray more more more and argue less, and stop pinpointing whose faults is it, then things would change. Prayer changes things, but debating does not. Allah have mercy on us.

  44. omer says:

Mr.Bashir goth, All what I could figure out in your article:"somaliland finally comes out of its shamefull silence " is your self petrayal. A man may fall and rise again but a man who is reconicled is truely vanquished. somaliland people undertand your article to be sleeeping with the enemy. giving charity to people in need is a humanitarian obligation, but not coming out from shameful silence. somaliland people recognize the diffirece between self-determination and paying charity.
Somaliland people have no need to heal wounds, nor have sympathy for building bridge of future cooperation, nor brotherhood or to heal the wounds of the past with souther somalia. Somaliland people do not see giving charity to a needy civilians as recapturing a missed golden opportunity to entertain rejoinment for brotherhood, Yes, you are right Somaliland is more boon than bane for the Horn of Africa, but how, is becuase of doing what you and other have failed to do and because of its model of building somaliland statehood..

  45. Ahmed says:

Riyhoo qaawan baa idaha ku qosla! SNM iyadaa taag daran maxay tari mid kale, war xishooda oo wax isku fala waxan u qora sidii dad wax garanaya oo iskuulo soo maray!

  46. muxsidah says:

i suppose my comment is bit late, so in this minor instance, i would say rather late than never.
in my opinion as a non somali or per say non somalilander, i would say, never use words such as "better late than never" when it comes to some human disaster such as the horrific famine which happened in south somalia. i am trying to understand the mindset of the somalilander why they ddnt respond to their brethren. i am surely tryin to understand why some somalilander state that they are not brother and sisters of somalians in the south. my humblest appeal to one and all is if u are muslim and u do good unto others even when u suffer almost the same such as the drought alsonfound in somaliland, please reach out and help. this test was not only for the world to view but the judge of all judges, Allah our creator and sustainer wwas watching us and he will be assessing our intentions and our actions. may Allah open our hearts and place forgiveness in our blood and minds so that we can understand his tests for us on this earth.

brother Raage it is true what u state that how many sml were brutally killed but u must also know that these are tests from Allah and he is checking our every choice he gives us, so i say if u had water and food in ure stores but u did not haste to help those southern somalis u will be questioned my brother. Allah forgiv our sins and put our differences and hardships aside and remove our weaknesses for truely the good we do in this world is for Allah sake. to myself and all sml and south somalians fear Allah, these are all tests just remember that before u say no to the next person in need. this advise goes to myself and fellow muslim brother and sister. sayyidinaa umr ra said he prefer some muslim to give him constructive criticism if it is to improve him as a muslim, this will surely improve ure status in jannah.Allah shower us with his mercy
