Somaliland delegation receives Indian Ambassador to UAE

ABU DHABI -– On Monday President Ahmed Silanyo and his delegation received the Indian Ambassador to the UAE for talks in various fields.
The Indian Ambassador, HE Mr. Lokesh Mysore Kapanaiah, held a meeting with the Somaliland officials for several hours on key issues including security, maritime piracy, foreign investment and education.
The Indian Ambassador told the Somaliland delegation that his country was well aware of Somaliland’s case and that they closely follow the Horn of Africa region. He said, he is well aware that Somaliland was once part of the Somali Republic, but has been running its own affairs for the last two decades. He added that he was aware that Somaliland has a viable and growing democracy and unlike many of its neighbours was remarkably stable.
The Ambassador said that the Indian government was keen to develop trade and security ties with Somaliland and forge relations on across a variety of areas. He also mentioned the fact that major Indian companies had expressed interest in investing in Somaliland, particular in the exploration and resources sector.
The Somaliland President on his part welcomed the Indian interest and said his country was ready to work with the emerging Asian giant. He told the Ambassador that Somaliland was keen to attract direct foreign investment as well as receive assistance in combating maritime piracy. He also said that Somaliland needed help with tackling terrorism which has taken a strong foundation in neighbouring Somalia. Finally he requested India to help Somaliland in the area of education by giving scholarships to Somaliland students to attend Indian universities. The Ambassador promised to convey the message to his government.
Somaliland and India to have ties
This is the first time Somaliland has made a direct contact with India. In the past it has been seeking ties with Pakistan with plans to open a trade office in Islamabad. Both India and China are racing each others in many corners of the world, in particular in Africa, in a bid to win regional friends and access land and natural resources. The Somaliland government has already promised investment deals for Beijing in the areas of infrastructure, tourism and hospitality and energy exploration.

So you must be implying that the TFG are the counterparts of other foreign leaders and ambassadors loool The TFG does not even have the respect of its own population so how can world leaders take them seriously. Furthermore, the Somaliland president and government have been democratically elected.
*Is the TFG? No!*Has there been any elections in the south or puntland? No!
*Does the TFG represent Somalia? No, not when 2/3 of the country as well as the areas it rules are against it.

There are many countries in the world who happen to be much smaller than Somaliand is size and population, but Alhamdullaht they are getting by just fine. And inshallah Somaliland will do just fine after recognition as well.

Somaliland file is a timed bomb for the African Union and International Community and they cannot really afford to ignore. On other hand, Somaliland Multiparty democracy is rarity in Africa, and the Muslim World, and AU needs to seriously consider Somaliland´s formal application of AU membership to reward such rare democracy shined at first time in east Africa. Somaliland is nation that power goes to the people.
Somalia and Somaliland were two different states before the unification in 1960, we don't want to be associated with southerners at this point and time of history, that doesn't mean we hate them, it just means that we shouldn't be tied with a dead body, south somalia has to stand up and take responsibility and find a cure for their internal issues, Southerners should take the Somaliland example and be pround of them if they really care about the somali race and not pray so that this glorious country falls apart like theis

In the somaliland constitution no one is greater then anyone based on clans only. A dhulbahante in somaliland is not less than or more greater than any other tribe. Just dont assume just because the isaaq are the largest clan. There is a majority of whites in Canada but they are equal to any other person with a different race. My final point is that the vice-president of somaliland is not isaaq. If President Silanyo dies in office he takes the office of president. You are completely wrong abdi824
India is most welcome to venture development projects in Somaliland. The UK is the chieftain
developer of Somaliland under the wise leadership of President Silaanyo and his technocratic
cabinet ministers and the forged bond between the British and Indians would just be
the right atmosphere for the trio to benefit eac other. The modernized India can give and gain a lot
from the rich raw resources in all fields of the undeveloped Somaliland. Equally important is the
education field and the opening of Charge de Affairs consular offices between the two countries.
Also to accept the Somaliland Passport and the support of Somaliland to become fully recognized to join the UN would be advangeous.

They don't want Somaliland to be recognised, but they also don't a goverment in Mogudishi. They want to continue piracy, exploiting fellow Somalis from Mogudishu who are in desperate situation by smuggling them, and prtaice illegal toxic dumping of waste. Even the Dahabshiil branch owner in Las Assasination (Canood) controls more blocks than the TFG in Mogadishu with its AMISOM troops. Somalia is ran from Nairobi, even its air space.
Somalia was a country when we were part of it and directing it but we left that and it all collapsed and other Somalis are not fit enough to revive it.
