The Coucil in western Hargeisa atracts one old and retiref official once a year, Im sure he was there for Edna Adan Ismail and I only see 20 people like the 20 Khaatumo protesters outside.

  2. Liban Elmi says:

There is nothing to celebrate this day. We have dictatorship at work, no stability, and no peace. Somaliland is now a lawless country ruled by gangs, liars and opportunities. We lost out legitimacy and respect because of this government. No need to go on a show in Washington DC which is based on false and fabricated stories. Just look at the reality in Somaliland today.

    • Abraham says:

XAARTUMOO. When was the last time you were in Somaliland.Maybe you need to check your tribe and where they live and how you and your kind are leading down the path of poverty, Ignorance and isolation. That bro where war and hate leads too. while you and those who live in the west live in the lap of luxury and don’t feel the misery of war they are suffering all kinds major problems including the ones I mentioned before. shame on you bro.

  7. Abdi Hashi Elmi says:

The Washington DC May 18th celebration was a success. The planning and organization of this conference was well done based on the content of the events. The evening festivities and celebration was unequaled. Moreover, the panels that participated in the conference were diverse. From SL government representatives, an Opposition party representative, Professors from American Universities, and especially of importance was the SL youth representatives that are the future of our country. The exchange of ideas between the panel members and the participants of the conference was a great example of democracy. As a citizen of SL, it was a proud moment for me. Special thanks goes to the organizers of this large and busy event. Special mention goes to Rashid Garuf, Mahdi Gaboosi and all the other planners and organizers who volunteered their time, funds and creativity.

May Allah bless Somaliland and its citizen.
