HARGEISA (SomalilandPress) — Somalilanders have always embraced technology, and a witness to that is our telecommunications industry which has services that are hard to find in some of the most developed nations. If you’ve been to Somaliland recently, you would’ve been wowed by the massive displays in stores advertising various Somaliland Businesses ranging from Dahabshiil, Adidas, Hargeisa Minerals & Resources Company, various hotels and even the Somaliland Travel & Tourism Agency. These displays can be found in places like Ambassador Hotel, National Fuel Stations, Kayse Bushaaro Shop, Dahabshiil, Kaah Fuel Station, and many more are springing up with every passing week.

The screens are connected to a central database which is maintained by the young Somalilander Entrepreneurs and are controlled directly from the web giving them live access to the adverts displaying on the screens. Span Image was brought to Somaliland by Khader Barjeh, who operates other businesses in the country and is an example of what Somaliland’s next generation has to offer.  He has also been able to offer employment opportunities to young Somalilanders in a country where the unemployment rate is astronomical.

Through their hard work, Span Image has managed to get their screens installed in 9 cities in Somaliland, with Dahabshiil being their largest customer in the region.
