Somaliland and SSC rebel talks to begin in Ainaba

LAS ANOD — First round of formal peace talks between the Somaliland government and the rebel Sool, Sanaag and Cayn (Ain) or SSC, are due to begin Today, Somalilandpress has learned.
A 16-member SSC team led by outfit’s chairman Suleiman Isse Ahmed ‘Hagaltosie’ arrived in Burao on Monday night to open the negotiations. Consisting of traditional elders, business leaders, politicians and civil society groups, they were met in the village of Yayle by high ranking ministerial team.
The negotiating panels of the government include Abdulaziz Samale, minister of finance, Hersi Ali Haji Hassan, minister of presidency, Mohamed Nur Arale, minister of interior and Kayse Abdi Yusuf, minister of state for national reconciliation. Faisal Ali Warabe, the former opposition leader of UCID party, was also part of the delegation as well as regional leaders.
Prior to Burao, the SSC entourage was escorted by the presidential peace committee to the town of Oog, where a dinner in their honor was held. While some spent there night there, the senior leaders of SSC were taken to Somaliland’s second city of Burao.

The extraordinary summit is expected to start in Sarar’s administrative capital, Ainaba later today. Aimed at resolving clashes in Buhodle and Sool regions, the leaders will further thresh out details of a peace deal that both sides have agreed to hammer out within the coming months.
Following the meeting between Mr. Silanyo and Ahmed, both sides agreed to hold talks in a bid to fast-track the negotiations. Mr. Hagaltosie agreed to disarm his rebels and work with the government’s development agenda and pledged to do his utmost best to curb militancy and bringing peace and stability to the Buhodle region.

SSC joined Somaliland after the division between Sool elders in Taleex and Buhoodle took a new turn…you have to understand the various divisions among the horsemen. I guess Silaanyo found out.

anyway we all want peace for the region and all accross Somalia but this isn't how to reach peace I remember last year when Kayse Abdi joined Somaliland and sii'layo decided to negotiate with Widhwidh people things only gone worse and spreaded whole region.
well ssc is part and parcel of s/land so really it is in YOUR interest to make peace as independence and territorial integrity is non negotiable

Everbody know border of 2 countries, not like Soudan, and SSC belong to Somaliland. We, as Somalilanders can stay and live in that way for the coming 100 years as long as we confidently recognize ourselves.
As for our dealings and relations with the foreign countries, pls be reminded you that the outside world deal with Somaliland as a separate country. The diplomatic missions of Ethiopia and Djibouti which are already in operation in Hargeisa is a good example for you and your likes. Moreover, in the coming weeks UK, Denmark and Norway will open their missions in Hargeisa. Do you think those countries have sought or asked permission to do that from the TFG in Mogadishu? The answer is NO.
In fact,our main concerns at this moment are all about developments and stability of the country whatever it takes us.
Somaliland haters have to understand recognition is a long process. Just look at how long it take for South Sudan, more than 40 years of struggle, Eritrea, 30 years and Palestine still waiting for 60 years! Believe me Somaliland did historical mistake to join Somalia in 1960,It's not gonna happen again whatever time it'll take or life blood it'll cost.

Let me remind u that Somaliland had been recognized by more than 30 countries between 26 june and 1 july 1960, which make it case of recognition stronger than Eritrea. Djiboutian are not 100% somali Ethnicity They are 40% afar.so,in This case Djibouti not CLASSIFIED as somali state Ethnically. They are more pure somalis live in NFD/westren somalia.

Maroco,Algeria and Tunisia,if you know The history of These countries not all arabs live There.each country have 30% Berber people and 5% Kurdish.

Rubbish, dont change rules after, Djibouti was part of Somaliweyn dream, Somaliland joined Somalia only with this condition. As long as contract had not been respected, occupation or not, Somaliland has legal rigth to withdraw from fake union. Everbody keep his colonial border as for all african country. Nothing more nothing less. I advice u to start this time by 3 others somalis regions before trying to force again Somaliland to go back in Union. Good luck!
