It is wiser to immortalized him through his work. Let those who missed him alive catch glimpses of him in his memorial.

Death is part of life and everyone will go one day sooner or later. May Allah SWT give him His Mercy and lead him to Jannah. May all that he has taught others through his poetry and rhetoric become good deeds for him in the Day of Judgment? Raising awareness is guiding others to knowledge which is a fine deed. He has given his poetry generously. He has awakened minds to knowledge. He has inspired others. He has addressed friends and foe with fine humour.

Gaariye?s death is not only about him, he took with him an encyclopedic knowledge, positive energy constant inspiration and thought provoking poetry for a society that needed wisdom most. This makes his death more biting. May Allah SWT make it bearable for his immediate family and for the people of Somaliland.

It is wiser to immortalized him through his work. Let those who missed him alive catch glimpses of him in his memorial. Let his death become a rude awakening for the historians and poets after him to take the responsibility of collecting the ever eroding culture of Somaliland and start recording their works and the works of others like Gaariye before it is too late.

As most of you so naively mourning Gaarriye's death. I am one of those who will not doe that, because Gaarriye was one of those song-writers who, sided for more than decades with the notorious Siyaad Barre's killing machine of malitias and regular rmed forces, who back in the eighties of last century commited the worst genocides against our great nation of Shiikh Isaxaaq Biu Axmed, on our own soil. I have more than twenty songs writen by Garriye encouraging those militias and army of Siyad Barre to kill more and more Isaaqiis. Oc course our nation stood up to Siyad Barre and delivered him the last below and emerged victorious; and to my surprise our nobel Isaaqiis refrained from taking revenge from such rats as Garriye and Sangub. But at this moment I must remind those who foolishly mourn Gaarriye the teriator, to better show respect for the thousands of our martyers who shed their blood for the freedom and statehood we enjoy today.
