Somalia: Wagosha Movement of Somalia calls international community to stop IGAD bias initiative on Jubbaland

The Executive committee of Wagosha Movement of Somalia has strongly condemned clan driven policy of IGAD on Jubbaland initiative. The Chairman of Wagosha Movement Eng Yarow Sharif Adan and MP Hussein Mohamed Musa Bantu from Wagosha people said IGAD bias conference in Nairobi showed how the regional body is being used to promote certain clans, while leaving out the rights of other people in the region. IGAD convened a meeting in Nairobi, where it has invited some clans like Ogaden and HArti, who make the minority clans in Jubbaland, while leaving out the majority clans, The Bantu Swahili speaking Community of Wagosha and Marehan, and many others.,
The leaders said Somalis are tired of nonsense fighting, but the motive of IGAD is nothing else , but one aimed at inciting clan fighting among the clans in Jubbaland regions.
Kenya’s state minister for defence Mohamed Yusuf Haji and IGAD secretary general who hail from Ogaden clan are the ones behind this meeting, which has one motive of handing over the whole Jubbaland regions to their clansmen led by Mohamad Abdi Gandi, an Ethiopian politician, who has never set a foot in Jubba regions. Also behind this conspiracy are close friends of Mohamed Abdi Gandi who work with African Union Mission in Somalia.
“This is another conspiracy to deny the rights of the Bantu Swahili speaking people in Jubba regions, and it may lead to unnecessary bloodshed to Jubba regions, because it was injustice which put Somalia, where its is now, and another injustice cannot be the remedy of this problem” said MP Hussein Bantu, who also called the regional countries, specially Ethiopia and Kenya to avert further conflict in these regions.
Eng YArow Sharif Adan, The Chairman of Wagosha Movement said after decades of injustice, persecution, genocide all sorts of maltreatment against Wagosha, its surprise to see a respected regional body is being used by individuals like Haji and Mahbub, who have only one interest of favouring their Ogaden clan.
After many years of persecution in their land, the Wagosha people faced the worst disaster in 1992 , when Darod clans led by warlords General Morgan, General Adan Gabyow, General Mohamed Abshir, Colonel Bashir Bililiqo and others.
With fear of repetition of those atrocities, the Wagosha people founded political and military movement called Wagosha Movement of Somalia. The Movement is currently active in areas inhabited by Wagosha people in Somalia.
The Wagosha leader said the outcome of one sided meeting in Nairobi is nit recognized by Jubbaland inhabitants including Wagosha people, and any administration formed without the will of the people will fail.
They also called the international community to convene all inclusive meeting for Jubbaland people and get right the details about Jubba regions.

Wagosha are somali bantus or shall i say Jareer who are very peaceful community, they mainly inhabit mostly around the banks of juba. wen jubaland including gedo was controlled by Puntland, puntland give them their rights of freedom, voice to express & education etc.
but in the last few years the ogaden clans have taken a leading role in jubaland even though they are minority, they only live in one District (Afmadow). the Ras Kambooni leader Madobe & the Azania president are both from the ogaden clan.

i think there some small community of mjs that reside in kismayo but the marehaans are the majority in gedo & in middle juba & the ogadens are mostly in lower juba close to border of kenya. i was just stating the facts that the somali bantus are minority & should live peacefully with the majority.

Wagosha are the owners of Jubbaland. Their main language is Kiswahili and other Banti dialects. Even the names of many parts in Jubba are from Kiswahili language. Look Chamama, which is pronounced Jamame by Somalis, Kisima cha Juu, which is called Kismaayo by Somalis. There are also many others like Zunguni, Mkalango, Komzuma etc. Also remember Jubbaland was once part of Kenya until 1924 when it was given to Italian administration. So let us even learn the history of our country. instead of making fun of serious issues, which I am sure are going to be genuine and bitter to others.

I would like to tell my brother who claimed that Wagosha are illegal immigrants. Why do not you read the history. Its the Puntland people who were brought as porters or xamaali to work at Kismaayo local port during the Italian colonial administration. Few Hundred men from the smaller clans of Puntland were sent by the chief of Puntland as a gift to the Italian administrator of southern Somalia. Until today there are few houses belonged to Puntland people in Kismaayo, and this does not mean they own Jubbaland.

hahahahaha, there are too many clans in the south unlike our north where theres only four or less tribes; Dir, Darood and Gabooye.
The fertile land of Jubba is highly disputed but personally I think the Hawiye will have the final say and they wont right now because they too busy fighting al shabaab and others but when they stand on their feet, I know they will come out blazing.
I know the Daroods won't agree with me but I doubt many are aware that Ethiopia for instance does not want Jubbaland under Ogadens because they fear ONLF will find safe haven there, I believe the Hawiye will explore these options and few others that I wont say here…but there is big lobby going on in Nairobi and Addis Ababa.
Kenya wants the Ogaden but Ethiopia doesn't so I think Kenya will assemble some regional administration but Ethiopia will dismantle it later.

It is not dar@@d vs haw*ye people are grown from That era unlike what is holding back s/land. The reality is haw*ye even don’t have 5% population in jubbaland They are more wagosha Than haw*ye so it will be impossible haw*ye mayor or governor in kismayu.
As you mention The ethiopian are not keen ogaden take in charge whole jubbaland,put remember They are strong presence of marehan & harti which The termite ethiopian willing to work with Them.ogaden will not be major force put be part of jubbaland community.
Kenya and ethiopia came to agreement jubbaland should become safe haven ONLF. The reason ethiopain never attack kismayu was The city is very dense IC knows what happen in mogadishu 2006 They are not intereted to see That agian.
