NAIROBI (Somalilandpress) — Somalia’s prime minister has unveiled a new, slimmed-down Cabinet of 18 ministers, a big drop from the 39 ministers the former prime minister had.

Prime Minister Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed named the new Cabinet Friday. Abdullahi — a Somali-American who has taught at a community college in New York state — was named prime minister last month.

Abdullahi says the Somali people and the international community were waiting for a credible and competent Cabinet. Only two ministers from the previous administration remain.

Somalia has not had an effective government since 1991. The internationally backed Mogadishu government has not made much progress to end violence in the country.

He is not PM for Somalis but for "Somalia", hence it is more correct to refer to him as "Somalia PM" instead of "Somali PM".

    Somali = Origination, cultural etc.

Somalia = a little fiefdom like Djibouti.

The 4th PM since the inception of the TFG and his new nominated Cabinet Govt. Subject to the approval by President Sharif and the 550 Parliament Legislators. While Puntland has a strong inclusion in this Cabinet I see the Foreign Minister is from Somaliland who's also the same subclan of the Foreign Minister of Somaliland DR. Omar. Assuming that the PM's Cabinet gets approved apart from the huge daunting crisis awaiting the new Govt. of MR. Mohamed…Alshabab and Xizbul Islam the Amisom and the already proposed constitution and the questions of Puntland and Somaliland issues are but few to bring into light. However the Somaliland is entirely a different ball game issue.
    Cheers.

No mandate, unelected, controls only a few blocks of Mogadishu, as usual, a Somalilander mercenary has been given the Foreign Affairs (orod oo noo hadal, afartan dollarna qaado), won't last, some transitional government, I thought its mandate ended in 2008. Allaa maxaa dollar laga cunayaa ajnabiga!!

I just wonder how they will deal with the Amisom and the so-called full of flaws Constitution out
of all the other conflicting obstacles!. It also remains to be seen how the Unpos chief MR. Mahiga
and the Nominated IGAD/AU Chief MR. Rawlings will be able to bring about any peacefull solution
through the intractable issues facing the self appointed weak TFG warlords whose mandate term
is nearing to end without the slightest hinge of any progress. In situations of this nature it's adivisable
that other sustainable alternative solutions to replace the TFG must be explored and found.
Continuing to persue this dead end is a real waste for all the stakeholder players.
    Cheers.

      Hey Mohamed
We all have sweet burning emotional aspirational emotional dreams of long live Somaliweyn
(Greater Somalia) just like the Serbia to mention few. But practically speaking the way things are
between the 5 Somalis is it really feasible or even possible to go for this passion now when
the Somalis are in ghastly limbo situations of different kinds and sorts.
I just can't be the final say but leave it blank and open for further speculations.
      Cheers.
