Somalia: Finnish-Somali presidential bid stumbles over age requirement

Amal Abdi Ibrahim, a resident of Finland who was hoping to run for the presidency of Somalia, has been struck from the list of candidates because of her age.
According to a new interim Somali constitution, candidates for the post must be at least 40 years of age. Ibrahim is 37 and has been living in Finland for 20 years. A nurse and mother of five, she had planned to fight for the rights of girls, war widows and single mothers.
She was getting help in her effort from Green presidential candidate Pekka Haavisto’s former campaign manager, Riikka Kämppi.
Somalia’s new parliament is to select a president through secret ballot next Monday.

Well Somali's Sure do like to lie about the age to make them selves younger, she doesn't look 37 to me. When the Somalis arrived in the diaspora at least they take out 5-10 years of their age and in elementary school in the eight grade a 21 year somali woman. and the same thing in high school. At least make they should make them selves older to collect the pention and enjoy retirement.

When Somalis arrived in the diaspora they took at least 5-20 years out of their real age and in elementary you a 21 year old somali woman in a 8th grade school.
