SOMALIA: businessman gunned down in Puntland

LAS ANOD — A Somali trader was shot dead on Sunday evening by gunmen in the central town of Galkayo in Mudug region, news reports said.
The victim identified as Ainanshe Mire was a well known auto spare part trader and a friendly man who is said to have no known enemies. He was shot several times with a pistol as he left a mosque in the neighborhood of Horumar after evening prayers. This is the secod killings outside a mosque in Puntland in this week which is uncommon in the Somali culture.
Abdulrahman M. Hajji, the mayor of north Galkayo told local media that they did not have a motive but it was a tragedy. “This was a sad crime. We pay our respects to Ainanshe Mire, a businessman, whose life has been taken away. We extend our hearts and utmost condolences to his family and friends,” he said. He added an investigation was underway and he urged the Galmudug administration, which controls the south end of the city, to cooperate on the case.
This is the third time within a week that innocent civilians have fell victim to an ongoing surge of violence in Puntland’s major towns. It was just Wednesday when unknown assailants killed five people including a tribal leader in the towns of Garowe and Bosasso (see Somalia: gunmen kill five in Puntland).

Honestly is this a Somali culture? It used to be that one never commits a crime near Masjid let alone killing a brother who just prayed, It is common in the Middle east the arabs and Pakistanis, Puntland is now becoming like Mogadishu shabab might be behind it or some militants or even a criminal but who ever is killing the worshippers infront of a Mosque has crossed the line.
Killings outside of the Masjid are becoming very fashionable. All the assassinations in Las Canood took place after salad prayers outside the Masjid and also the killings in Puntland. May Alaah punish these evil doers, Amiin!

I agree with Gedi, Khalid, there is new religion which has nothing to do with our old way of Islam, which used to respect human life and never take life easily. i wonder where we are going to be or what society are we becoming? if we allow this type of cruelity, heartless and injust to spread our young generations. i believe we have to against it and say this is not right.

Problems are contagious. Puntland was/is always the scene where subversive activities are

simple solution to somalia thats includes puntland, just change your politicians and your elders who sends money to only destroy your land.
to the rest this is not a somali culture because the somalies who live in Djibouti and somaliland dont do such activities. only somalies from somalia are the ones who are killing each other wake up.
