HARGEISA (Somalilandpress) — President Ahmed Mohamed Silaanyo stepped down on Tuesday from his post as the Chairman of Kulmiye Party. He appointed his second in command, Muse Abdi, to his post at a ceremony held at the Mansor Hotel. President Silaanyo went on to say, “As I promised earlier, I am today giving the post of Chairman of the Kulmiye party to my second in command Muse Biixi Abdi, please welcome Muse to the post.”
Mr. Silaanyo spoke about his new administration and how there are those who are not happy with the selection of his cabinet members. The president informed the audience that there were members within his party, who were disappointed they did not get a cabinet position. However, his reasoning for a small cabinet was strategic, in that he wants to have a cabinet that is held accountable for their actions. Therefore, if he named any more members to the cabinet, he thought, this might jeopardize his goal.
After the President’s short speech the new Kulmiye leader, Muse Biixi Abdi, took the podium where he went on to thank the President for naming him Kulmiye party leader. Mr. Abdi was promised this position two years ago at Kulmiye Party’s convention, held in the city of Burco.

Another job well done by handing over the top Chairman position of the Kulmiye Party to Muj Biixi. Nominating Muj Biixi for this high position will add to strengthen the overall diversified performance of the Kulmiye Cabinet and its Party avoiding unnecessary elite frictions between the top party brass.
Congratulations Muj Biixi.
Best Regards.
we looking forward the transfer of power in opposition parties as well ( Udub and Ucid), we need effective opposition that held the new government accountable.
Chairmanship of a party should not be held by sitting president, so well done. So far you are moving in the right direction.
Mudane biixi you are one of the historical geros and liberators of the repbulic of Somaliland. We will remember you as well as the other libertors of Somaliland, not only for the decisive victory in defeating the the occupation force of the mighty Somaliland army of the nororious Siyad Barre and his clan-bases malitias, but also for refraining exacting revenge against those malitias, who commited war crimes against humanity in Somaliland. Your wisdom is what made the unque national reconciliation a long lasting success. Conguratulations Mr chairman.
In my opinion Mr. Silanyo is moving right direction giving the party leader to someone else and people do want smaller government since every position that eliminated would save money for S.land. However, not to reconsider to include other parts of Somaliland such as Western and Easter Somaliland in his government it would be huge mistake. He maybe digging Somaliland's graves.
We are building a country not a clan;therefore, use any he can use any mathed he wants but all regions should have enough representations within Kulmiye government. He can keep Udub away but he can still find Kulmiye every regions.
But if Mr.Siranyo continue to stick on his plan, all the packages comes with it would for him because clearly people think Somaliland becoming family run business rather than country idea. It would be my way or the highway and that's why all previous Somali administrations didn't work and this will be same as such. He still have time to fix and admitted the his msitakes.
