President Of Somaliland Sent A Message Of Condolence To The People Of Somalia

HARGEISA(SomalilandPress)-Somaliland President H.E Mohamed Mohamud (Silanyo) has sent message of condolence to the people of Somalia and family of the former President of Somalia late Abdillahi Yusuf Ahmed who passed away on 23rd March 2012 in UAE Hospital where he was undergoing medical treatment. President Silanyo on behalf of the people of Somaliland said that we are deeply saddened by the untimely death of late Abdillahi Yusuf Ahmed, President Silanyo sent his deepest sympathy to the people of
Somalia, family and friends.

One of 18 children, Yusuf was born in Galkayo in 1934, now one of the largest cities in the semi-autonomous region of Puntland that Yusuf himself helped to found. At the age of 19, Yusuf was selected by the Italian Trusteeship of Somalia as one of 14 cadets invited to attend Cesano military academy in Rome. Upon Somalia’s independence in 1960, he was one of 13 founding officers of the Somali National Army (SNA), and in 1964 he served as Somalia’s first military attache to the USSR.

The cause of death was not immediately disclosed, though Yusuf had been suffering from a liver ailment that required him to seek regular treatment abroad. In 1996, Yusuf had undergone a transplant procedure that subsequently made him the world’s oldest surviving liver transplant patient.

Abdullahi Yusuf might have been one 18 children or one of 13 founding officers of the Somali National Army (SNA). History will also remember him as one of a few traitors with fancy titles today who collaborated with the enemy of Somalia -Ethiopia – that led to the destruction of our country. It is difficult to tell whether Somali people should rejoice or mourn this man's death. Where is SNA today?

  2. osman5 says:

The deceased did not have good terms with somalilanders during his tenure in Somalia, I'm not even quite sure why our president sent condolences to somalis. If I were in Sillanyo's position I'd just ignore it.

This is the character of civilized societies like Somaliland. We recognized that he will face his Lord and it is not for us to judge, but we should simply say ina lillaahi wa inaa illeyhi raji'uun. I wouldnt cry for him nor insult him in his grave we are better than that folks.

    God bless

    • F.A. says:

Indeed bro, I am agreeing with you. I am very happy with the Somaliland people and there patience. But I am not agreeing with you on the ''we are better than that folks'' part. Nobody is better than anybody as long as we are judge by Allah and all our bad and good deads are counted. They are our muslim brothers and sisters who are really in deep trouble. We need to show them that They should remember Allah whenever they are doing something. That will help them stop doing bad things to themselfves and their own people inshallah.

I admire our President for this condolences.
Brothers and sisters he is now before Allah, subhanahu, wata ala, therefore we should be very sympathetic and share the sorrow with his loved ones and family members who lost him.

  6. ComeAgain says:

  7. Saddam says:

The president was right. Allah is the best judge and i pray for the late leader rest in peace

  8. Puntlander says:

Thank you President Silaanyo, you've done your duty as a compatriot and fellow Somali leader.

May Allah in his infinite mercy bless our late beloved President Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed with forgiveness and admit him in the eternal bliss of paradise. May Allah guide all the misguided and continue to guide the guided. May the peace, mercy and blessings of Allah be upon us all. AAMIIN

    • osman5 says:

Apparently we aren't he same he page on any thing. In a nutshell, he was a dictator in every letter of the word. I'd want a twisted-minded individual like Abdullahi Yusuf to stick around for a long time.
Thus, the way I see it is that another former dictator of Somalia bites the dirt.

You sound so god fearing and on the right path today. I thought I also saw you on many occasions creating mischief in this forum. It seems that Somalis became god fearing people and a little bit civil only when they see or hear about a deceased man whether he was a traitor or religious pillar.

Puntlander, the man you are shedding tears for killed many Somalis by collaborating with Menghisto Haile Mariam, as a warlord ethnically cleansed Somalis who hail from other tribes from Puntland and brought to Somalia tens of thousands of Ethiopian troops to massacre innocent Somalis in 2006. Now Puntlander, tell me if we have to wish peace, mercy and blessings to such a man, what kind of man should we condemn? If a ruthless thug like Abdullahi Yusuf can enter paradise, who of us can be blamed or implored to refrain from evil.

On a similar note, Mr. Silanyo – the man you and others prefer to call as Mr. president was the other traitor who led armed revolt against Somalia and led to the destruction of our country in the 1980s. Let Mr. Silanyo sent condolence to dead maniacs like him. Anyone can claim to be president of non-existent country and pretend to be obliging to do formal niceties. Let the ruthless scavengers in the plains of the horn of Africa thrive in the Caracas of dead great nation. We will not be deceived by fake maps and unrecognized clan enclaves. Once a traitor always a traitor.

    • amal says:

Well it is easy to point fingers and blame others. Somalia was destroyed by none other than poor management, dictatorial, brutal and tribal rule. That's what happens when you rule by the gun; you will destroy yourself and others full stop. Now let afweynes little helpers whine

    • cumar says:

Your right about The history of both men
Cabdulahi yusuf & silanya when you look

  12. misslovely says:

i wish it was moorgan from what i heard abdilaahi yuusuf was better then dhiigyacab moorgan

  13. I Jama says:

I am sorry but all war lords like this Abdillaahi Yusuf was representative of all this wrong with Somalis. He had a liver surgery which leads me to believe he abused alcohol. He doesn't and cannot be seen as a wholesome muslim Somali. Thus, I can only feel sorrow that this type of being was even given a chance to be a leader even if it is the TFG. I know non believers are not to be given an islamic condolence and all warlords to me are non muslims. If you are a muslime do not feel you have to wish rest in peace to evil. Instead recognise war lords are the baim of humanity and let Allah know you're true thoughts by condeming him to hell. like he condemened so many whilst he was given the power of leadership.
