HARGEISA(SomalilandPress)–US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will be visiting several African countries in the following week where she will attend African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) conference represented by 37 African countries. Before she visits Africa Madame Clinton will first stop in United Arab Emirates’ to meet with members of Libya Contact Group in order to find solution for Libya. After that meeting she is expected to travel to Zambia’s capital Lusaka to attend African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) conference. Madame Clinton will also be traveling to Tanzania and Ethiopia on this trip where she will meet with each head of state in both countries. In Ethiopia Secretary Clinton will meet with Ethiopian Prime Minster Meles Zenawi and AU Chairman Jean Ping to discuss regional issues particularly South Sudan and Somalia.
The arrival of Secretary Clinton to Ethiopia is a diplomatic opening for Somaliland to get chance to meet with the Secretary. Ethiopia is the contact point for the US Government in the region and Ethiopia’s excellent diplomatic relationship with Somaliland is expected to play a major role.Follow @somalilandpress
