AMMAN — AN ENRAGED Jordanian MP has pulled a gun on a political opponent during a live TV debate.
MP Mohammed Shawabka was debating Mansour Sayf al-Din Murad on issues including the Syrian uprising when the discussion became heated.
Both men threw accusations at each other: “You’re a Mossad agent”, said one. “You’re a big crook,” said the other.
Amid urgent pleas by the host to “calm down”, the MP took off his shoe and threw it at the activist, who toppled his desk in an effort to evade.
The MP then pulled a silver pistol out of his waistband, waving it towards his critic.
The brawl continued some time until the show’s producer cut to the credits.
