Fighting erupts between two local militias in Taleeh

TALEEH(Somalilandpress)-According to news reports coming from Taleeh fighting erupted between two ethnic groups, one pro-Somaliland and the other supporting the semi-autonomous region of Puntland.
The two groups clashed at the outskirts of Taleeh village which lies east of Sool province and 180km away from Las Anod, Sool’s provincial capital. Fighting left casualties including loss of life and injuries sustained by the two sides that engaged in armed war. The pro-Somaliland group ambushed officials from Puntland president who were en route to Taleeh while they were escorted with battle wagons. The group in favor of Somaliland fired to the militia group from Puntland’s capital of Garowe.
Reports indicate that three men died and two other men were reported to have sustained injuries. Mr. Jama Ali Shire, the brother of Puntland vice president is one of three men reported to have been killed in the clash. Another confirmed dead is Mr. Quule who worked at the office of Puntland president. It became common occurrence for groups sporting the government of Somaliland and Puntland to clash in Taleeh on numerous occasions.
This clash is believed to have something to do with an abduction carried out by militia group from Puntland that ambushed Somaliland delegation that were en route to Taleeh and was led by Mr. Saleban Ali Koore. The situation on the ground in Taleeh is calm and elders began mediation efforts between the two local groups. There are currently elders, intellectuals and politicians who are in Taleeh that are preoccupied In organizing conference for the ethnic tribes that inhabit in the region and which is supposed to open inTaleeh shortly.

When is puntland gonna stop this nonesense clashes that result in the loss of lives. They need to respect the territorial integrity of Somaliland and leave its people in peace in their homeland.

It healed the region from Siyad Barres divide and rule leadership and although not entirely perfect, I am able to call it mine.

This is not good, Ofcourse every loss of life is tragic but this may lead to more loss of life. And the naive me who was hoping Punland and Somaliland somehow in the future would send "peace keeping" soldiers to the south. Although it didnt went well last time puntland did so :P
But also remember Omar, the provocation came from the Puntland malitia/goverment…they are the ones who sent battle wagons and arm soldiers to a place that was preparing for Dhulbahante meeting shortly after they have illegally murder and unlawfully held the residents and politicians for months. It is my understanding that the Somaliland army is enroute to calm the situation and support its citizens in this endeavor against any hostile invadors.
I would like to see peaceful putlant that coexists side by side with its peaceful and democratic neighbor Somaliland, only then we could have seen the kind of cooperation you mentioned, However, it seems to me, judging from the action of much of their leaders and citizens, that Puntland is not interested in bringing about meaningfull peace. With all this efforts against Somaliland and its citizens, they could have managed one of their main problems fighting piracy and promoting democracy. It is also my understanding that they are using this hostility to distract their citizens the real issues affecting their province. I would urge the Majeertien Somali family to hold their government accountable and focus on real issues, peace building, democratization and fighting piracy. Then maybe we can send peace makers to the Somalia and eliminate the Alshebabe menace from the face of Earth. Somaliland can not afford to bring peace to Somalia or send its troops there because 1) It doesn't have the funds to support and sustain peacekeepers when at every turn they block its economic development and international support for this nation and 2) When both political entities in Somalia and perhabs much of their citizens are hostile to this peace loving nation for no other than the values it holds deal: peace, Indigenous Nomatic Democratic Values and brotherly love regardless of tribal or political stripe.
If the controversial Dubur meetings of the Ciise Muse was not allowed to have its ways, why the Taleeh should be allowed to do what it takes and/or is all about!. Taleeh is a district township which comes
under the leadership of Sanaag and the local Govt. of Sanaag should be capable to bring about
good control in the Region or else face replacements for not being in full control. The Police and the
Army Commands should be capable to bring about the Complete control of the Sanaag Regions under
the Central Govt. controls. The new Army Commander Jidif will have a tough test to prove himself
on the insurgency of Taleeh and Puntland. Since Commander Taani was replaced its also urged to replace the Defence Minister Cadami by more Military ranked dignitary. It's a disgrace that the Somaliland Army ranks are not upto now finalised. The same ways the Govt. dealt with the Saameel massacre must also
be for the SS insurgency/Puntland interferences.

Puntland released the secessionist region of "Somaliland's" prisoners due to the heartfelt plea of their family in Hargeisa who begged Puntland officials to forgive their relatives for the heinous crime of violating Puntland's State borders.
It is incumbent on the secessionist government confined within the triangle of Berbera-Burco-Hargeisa to stop assassinating innocent people who may be relatives of officials of Puntland.
It is clear that the regional authority in the secessionist area is incumbent on killing innocent people further proved by the people in Awdal region, people who were killed in their sleep if I may add.

Sayed Mohamed Abdulle Hassan who bogged down the British forces and the RAF in El Dur Elan for 21 years must be turning up in his grave that Taleeh (Tale) is still a battle ground for opposing Somali forces after a century. The only thing that is missing from this picture is the presence of the white colonialist and the fact that no valuable livestock is being raided or looted from each opposing tribe. Yesterday, Somali people lost most parts of their land to foreigners because of their never ending inter clan fighting.Today, it seems they will soon lose the rest of their country by creating animosity and false borders between brotherly people. Instead you should write an article condeming Puntland and it’s naked aggression to Somaliland territory and it’s intentions of creating conflict in Galkacayo, Mudug after when it failed to silence the problems they created among Galkacayo community.

God Help Somalis, we are truly insane backward people who are just blood thirsty and illiterate. 22 years of conflict and devastation but we seem to never move an inch, hatred, plain lunacy and sheer ignorance has reduced our lands into mini fiefdoms controlled jealously by warlords doomed to vengeance and cleansing of quranic proportion. Watching Pirates, suicide bombers, warlords, CIA, UPDF, KDF, EDF, BDF, Drones, Donkeys loaded with weapons, disease, mass migrations, mass genocide, starvation, drought, deforestation, occupation, polution, hopelessness; taking the Somalis hostage is not only self inflincting, but a condemnetation of whole Somalis society into abyss and moral bankruptness, we are ungovernable and unforgiving lot.
When does Taleeh become Tuur Faraxood or Damuuq Borame. If the Isaqs and other Somalis live glass houses and sent their children to nice clear shools, what make you think Samaron are not entitled to live same as other Somalis? I think you are not from Borame while blaming others are not from there. Some people just don't get it that there is no Somalia and Somali regions instead we get Jig-jiga let by Ogaden, Daron, Putland for Majeerten Harti, Djibouti by Issa, North Kenya by multi-Darod subclans and Somaliland by Isaq. Also another Azania State will soon come let by Majerten, Marehan helping by Kenya. Having say all that why would anyone be jealous about Gadabursi and some Harti in the North come up their own SSC and Awdalstate whatever they called it. n fyi The isaaqs(Which i am not) they have got something to be proud of they got their Somaliland, thats an achievement.It is an all inclusive state that accomodate others irrespective of clan identity.
and as for the Hawiye (which i am), granted we havent organised our self into tribal entity such as the one that you brag about, we are trying to establish way forward not only for our own clans but others that live near us through consensus, cooperation and mutual understanding …………….eg recently established regional states of Galmudug, Ximan iyo Xeeb.
