Flights to Hargeisa differed as Renovation of Runway not Complete

Press Release

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia: Ethiopian Airlines, the fastest growing airline in Africa, is pleased to announce the start of new flights to Berbera, the port city of Somaliland, as of July 1, 2012. Ethiopian will fly to Berbera daily using its Q400 aircraft, with three morning and four afternoon flights.

Ethiopian’s addition of Berbera to its network will bring its international destinations in Africa to 43, excluding its 17 domestic points, thus further solidifying Ethiopian’s position as the airline that provides the most convenient connection to and from Africa.

The resumption of flights to Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland, scheduled for June 10, 2012 has been differed as renovation of runway at Hargeisa airport has not been completed. Once the renovation at Hargeisa airport is completed, Ethiopian plans to start flights immediately.
Berbera, a seaport town with the only sheltered harbor on the Southside of the Gulf of Aden, is playing an increasing role as an alternative sea trading door for the East Africa region. It is the most important city in Somaliland next to its capital city Hargeisa.

Ethiopian’s addition of Berbera to its network, in addition to strengthening trade networks in East Africa, will enable international travelers from the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas a much more convenient and easy access to the Somalia Region.

Surely Flights to Hargeisa deferred and not differed!

  2. Kayse says:

Hargeisa is now the Chernobyl of Africa infected with a virus called Garadag Isbaaro or GI and people will be forced to take the dangerous bus ride from oven like Berbera. The Haji Warabe airport is closed for the gang from Garadag. Hargeisa is now Chinorble

    • mustymo says:

Comparing Chernobyl to Hargeisa is a wild misjudgement. This just adds to your tally of pathetic comments. Chernobyl was the victim of a nuclear catastrophe NOT a virus. Next time you try to bad mouth Somaliland get your facts right! unfortunately spell checker didn't come to your rescue this time, as you spelt Chernobyl wrong even though you spelt it right at the start! Pathetic Kayse at it again. Who can stop this guy?

    • Zeus says:

The redirection of Ethiopian Airlines from Hargeisa to Berbera is positive news. Somaliland again has shown the world there’s always a flexibility in Somaliland when people are making vital business decisions that are geared for Somaliland. I believe the Ethiopian Airline game plan from Hargeisa to Berbera was a seamless move.

Kayse, putting your money either in the right pocket or the left pocket, is no matter as long as that money is going in the same pair of pants..

So called kayse is an Alien. He is from a planet called Faqash defeated by the braves of SNM. He is still bitter for the lost of his alien race. He is confused and a sad sole.

    • Somaliland says:

      Well said! Viva Somaliland!

  7. Cimraan says:

The Faqash aliens spearheaded by Kayse are increasingly visible in Somalilandpress. Using all kinds of Aliens fashioned names to disguise themselves they are spreading all kinds of propaganda. They are being aided in this en devour by swarms of unti North haters lead by Piratelanders and Xartumo citizens.

    • khaatumo citizen says:

how come we be north haters when we actually northers use ur bloody head mayn.. whatever happens if anything happens in the region also effect me and as much as we'll effect u.. nacas … viva north somalia

      • khaatumo citizen says:

Corretion: if anything bad happens in north somalia it will also effect me not just u..

  8. Kayse says:

I'm the one introducing the Chernobyl concept here and I know exactly what I am talking about. Hargeisa's Haji Warabe airport is no go zone like Ukraine's Chernobyl. I wonder what they will kill next they already removed to vital organs from Hargeisa (airport and new Hargeisa)…only time will tell what the gang does next.

    • Kayse says:

      to = two

    • Layla says:

What a mindless clannist you are Kayse, i thought Hargeisa Airport 's name was (Egal International Airport) when has it changed to Abdi Waraabe Airport. Down tribest like you Viva Somaliland people whose their priority is Peace!

  9. mustafe Bidhaan says:

thank you Ethiopian AIRLINE , and somaliland government , i life in uk so this is good news for me and my family CHEERFULNESS

  10. Ahmed Dhegaweyne says:

I can't really fathom what has driven Keyse to this level of hate which urges him to such a provocative and negative reaction to any news that has something to do with Somaliland!! This resumption of Ethiopian Airline Flights to Somaliland shouldn't worry one unless one is highly competitive sales representative showing fighting disposition. How sick one can be to react so negatively to mention of simple news.

  11. Kayse says:

Ethiopian air is no doubt better than Daallo airlines and I certainly welcome them but what I question is the motives of Garadag gang and why the airport is closed.

    Just for the record: http://i48.tinypic.com/2dvjy1d.jpg

That's what I think of them, its their job to prove me wrong, they have one year.
