  1. Kayse says:

Im not a fan of tiny French military camp Djibouti, but its good to have some sort of relations with all neighbors.

I personally prefer if we engage with Kenya more.

  2. Yusuf Elmi says:

This is an important move by Somaliland government. Dr. Mohamed Omar's great diplomatic skills and vision was known for sometime as he was the key architect internationally of the KULMIYE win. But his current regional tour and his closeness with the western powers is proving once again his talent in diplmacy and strategic thinking. As the internastional face of Somaliland government, he already lifted the international attention to Somaliland and we can expect alot more positive outcome from this Academic turned politician.
keeping regional countries,IGAD, US and EU intersted in the Somaliland affairs is a challenge Dr. Omar has set for himself – a challenge none of the predecessors dared to think about, and he is showing us already some success. Let us wish him good lack.

    • mohamed says:

      Dear MR. Elmi

Yes indeed, you said it all…Let us wish him good luck.
Moreover regardless of the Djiboutien Regime policies, President
Ismail Omar Guelleh is a smart guy and understands the new
Sl position of the ruling Kulmiye Party…henceforth we already seeing
the diplomatic uplift for the Sl side. I have no doubt in my mind that
this young technocrat Dr. Omar like his President and other SL
Cabinet members will not rest to turn every posible way for the
Sl issue to go through as a free Nation amongst the free Nations.
      Cheers.

    • hassan says:

inside the country there are other individuals that can be held accountable, but outside the country this young man (Mohamed) is doing great and well.

  4. y wiyeer says:

It's more important to make peace and relations in next door but Mr Gale he doesn't care our country in somaliland

  5. Musa says:

Jibouti is a tiny of piece of land whose our heroes had died for its liberation before the ownership of Isse and Afar came into being. We were also the arkitect of their independence. Now, thousands of wealthy Somalilander are still there, but since their independence, they had and still giving us the most harsh treatments, taking adventages of our woes and wars. Really, I hate that little land and I would have not spent one minute of my time visiting or make bilateral relations with them whatsoever. But, good luck, with Dr Mohamed and his new Somaliland administration, if they are trying to create some sort cool relationship with that bloody Jabouti dictator.

  6. yasser says:

Long life for president ismail omar guelleh and for djibouti also. kuwa naga xoon waa yelkadood.

  7. Kayse says:

All good guys—I agree those who suggested the president needs to focus on local issues than going abroad. He needs to fix the eastern regions and re-train the army. I am certain right now Somaliland will get huge funds for security from UK, Sweden, and the US…time to use it on the east. Securing the east means keeping the terrorists in the south.

  8. Omar says:

Djibouti will never recognise "Somaliland" it is live SSDF becaome Puntland as well the Same SNM become Somaliland,

  9. Omar says:

The only tribe in Somalia who just now how to insult anthers peoble is the Eadoors in "Somaliland", we never hear others tribes insulting others, maybe is is your cultures, or maybe Jealousy, Somaliland Is not yet recognised by international communities, the close relationship between Djibouti and Mogadishu will block your recognision, this bad culture came from Hargeisa's tribes will never be acceptable, THE OTHERS think WHY your leaders came to Djibouti? we don't go to Hargeisa, Hassan Gouled Aptidon was rulling Djibouti 20 years, and never been In Hargeisa or his cabinet, Same Ismail Omar Guelleh has never been in "Somaliland" THE question why you camming to Djibouti at same insulting Djiboutian, I think Eadoors are Jealous

  10. Omar says:

Title of the article say "Djibouti president meets with Somaliland Foreign Ministers" Is your stupid minister came to Mohamed Ali came to Djibouti, So He is the one came to Djibouti-White house to meet Ismail Omar guelleh, So Eadoors make mean, the tile must be revers.

  11. S/lander says:

Aniga waxa ay ila tahay in labaada dalba ay isu baahan yihiin waayo makala maarano waa inan iyo abtigii markaa dooda lagu soo dabaalo danta ka dhaxaynkarta labada dal ka sakow aqoonsigaba, cilaaqaadku wuu fiican yahay in uu dhax maro labada dal qasab maaha in waxa ladoonayo hadii lakala waayo la is diido ee waa in si kale loo dhigaa.

  12. hanad says:

marka hore waad salaman tihiin dhamaantii bacda salan had waxa la jooga xiligii ay wax wada qaabsan layeen labad dal ee walalaha ah somaliland iyo djibouti waayo laba dal waxa wada dega dad dhinac kasta aan u kala maarmeynin waa mahadsan tihiin salama

  13. hanad says:

first i am very glad to see the two country have a strong relationship somaliland and djibouti because of they are a very close brothers for every aspect so that it s very good to do both of them ok bye

  14. hanad says:

d'abord je suis très heureux de voir que le pays deux avoir un somaliland fort de rapport et Djibouti en raison de eux sont les frères très étroits pour chaque aspect de sorte qu'il s très bon pour faire les deux approuvent le bye

  15. Djibhouse says:

A negative judgment gives you more satisfaction than praise.
Why S'Landers react with such strong emotions and resentment when it comes to Djibouti or President Guelleh…
Your top priorities should be building bridges and should start with your neighbours and extend to the rest of the world. Dr Omar did the right move and we feel honored for this brotherly visite. To the few morons from of this blog use your higher moral and keep your negativities to yourself.

  16. Farxaan says:

Omar, I think you need to go back to school at least to learn basic English Grammar, otherwise just write your stupid comments in Somali I believe you are absent-minded guy against Somaliland.

  17. Ayanle From Borama says:

Farxaan, don't forget Djibout's language is french although Somali is also spoken isn't the first language of communication. Djibouti, there are other languages including Anfar, Arabic and even Ahmaric can be heard sometimes. When it come to education, French language is the official so if brothers from Djibouti try to write English and make few grammer mistakes it's not the end of the world since we do understand their cooments anyway.

Some of you here view Djibouti is obstacles to your dream recognition when infact you don't even recognized from one another. Instead of listening and finding solution to your problems, you blame other Somali communities. Hey brother, it people in Awdal, Sool and sanaag regions who will block your single clan dream of recognition unless you welcome these community and share Somaliland with them.

    • Jelle says:

Since Djibouti don't produce anything and the weather is bad. I recommend Somaliland to build factories & farm land for this tiny country. Look at them as a business opportunity and your fellow Somalis. Forgot about politics. Remember Djibouti has higher per capita than Somaliland. They love to shop in Hargeisa as we all know and saw in our markets. So don't rock the boat, they are good customers. Also, every summer they scape from the heat and rent houses in Somaliland and spend money. They are helping our economy.

      • samira says:

so far this is the most sane idea; everyone is suspcious, but the trade opportuniies is phenominal! SL married to a DJB, so would love to make money on both sides of the border my friend.(Eventually)

    • mohamed says:

      Ayanle Dear…The Somaliland is a Nation(Qaran) and really I don't see
the problems you talking about can poise any real yhreat to the National
Security of the Country as a whole. The Constituencies of Awdal, Sool and
Sanaag have their share of governing the Country and really I don't
understand what problems are fingering your mentality!
      Cheers.

  18. farhan says:
