Cabinet Selection Must Based Qualification

July 10, 2010   ·   22 Comments

HARGEISA (Somalilandpress) –The campaign fever is over, new president is elected, the whole nation united behind one leader, a leader who sacrificed his people when they needed him most, a trusted leader, some one who is able to lead the nation to the path of prosperity, but it is not easy to achieve any of the unless all resources, both human and capital resources are mobilized to succeed the new president and the nation.

Candidate Silanyo, made an election promises, KULMIYE party attracted so many groups that made possible this historic victory, all gr0oups had their hidden interest, but only one interest matters most, which interest is that?  Simple and clear that is the nations interest.

All interest groups and professional politicians are disposable, the interest of the country superseded everything. Mr. President the task is extremely difficult one, it needs a special care, it is a nation building, you need to have a people who are qualified, credible, honest, nationalists and individuals who put aside all personal interest a people who can be fair to all Somaliland ministers.

A clan oriented ministers already fail this nation, the nations resources has been depleted by its leaders, but your victory is a message for the nation, at last there is a light at end of the tunnel.

Mr. President, Your cabinet selection and appointments must be based on qualifications, and credibility, clan based and questionable personality must be reject.

Mr. President the time has changed, we are in new ere, the public want you to leave a ligancy, they want you to be in the history books as their great leader.

GOD PLESS SOMALIAND!!!

I believe we can all agree that despite some spelling errors and omissions of some words we understand the point the person is trying to make across. We all make mistakes. Give the person a break. His English is not that bad. Perhaps, he is high on chewing the Kat and his mind is clouded a bit. We have seen the kind of English some of the people who post comments here writes.

Wow Mr. What about if english was your mother tongue… ha ha ha… I am english and my mother tongue is english but still i make mistakes so what .We learn through our mistakes. Therefore take it easy on the guy. seems his ideas are great so what…by the way knowing english isn't a seal of prove that you are educated as english is not education. some people possess natural talent that at times is better than university gratuates. Mr gobaad enlighten your good enlish with yourself and please respect other peoples feeling.

It's not about whose mother tongue is what, it's about professional journalism. Whatever language you write a published piece in, be it English, Somali or Italian then it should be a well written piece free from this many mistakes. It's like saying the examiner marking an exam should discount all the mistakes in the writing style (incl. punctuation) and instead they should try and decipher what is meant.

Don't get me wrong I believe in what the author is trying to say but I am saying you have to write it better. Well knowing English and being able to say and write what you know effectively in English is a seal of proof that you are educated in English. There is a reason why I do not write articles in Somali and that is because I feel that the amount of mistakes I would make would take meaning away from what I am writing.

It's amazing how few of you refugees who discovered the English language not long ago make the English language big deal, relax people it's no holy script. Everyone makes errors focus on the message behind the article than the few grammar errors.

If you don't know UFFO, it's the first underground social movement that began in Hargeisa that led to the establishment of the SNM. It was young professionals who decided to take matters to their own hands when the dictator in Mogadishu abadoned all developments in Somaliland.

Many of them were doctors and other professionals.

    peace.

    Hey Folks,

The SNM was FOUNDED IN RIYADH the Capital City of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, AND THEN RESTRUCTURED IN LONDON the Capital City of Great
Britan of the UK. Make no mistakes about the Somaliland, its pro colonial histories and what it was and still is.

As for UFFO, I did not reject what it stood for, but I was astonished why it was
picked up as a source, when in fact we are engaged in more bigger things
at this time, Unless bringing up the UFFO issue at this stage was meant only to create divisions in our united efforts as a people of great Somaliland under
one God, One Constitution and One flag scripted in God we trust….
Folks get over this debate and get busy on the more other critical issues of
    greater substances.
    Cheers.

No doubt this article is a mess and it would have been good idea if it has been edited properly. That did not happen, so let us move on.

President Siilaanyo has a huge task in hand. As soon as he is inaugurated for office, he will realise the enormity of leading a country, especially one like Somaliland. Throughout his campaign to presidency, he consistently mentioned that he is, only, interested in individuals that can commit to the task and competent enough to bring in right results. The selection of his ministers and government staff will speak volumes of his promises and what kind of leader he will be. I, personally, believe he can pull it off just right. And he has all the experience to form the most befitting government we need now.
May Allah, the Almighty, guide our new president to the righteous path and help him be the most effective leader.
