MOGADISHU (Somalilandpress) — One day after relative calm in the Somalia capital, heavy fightings resumed between the Islamic militant group, Al Shabab and Somali government troops backed African peacekeepers.
News coming from government sources confirms that at least 10 people died, including four African Union peacekeepers from Uganda.
The AU troops died when a mortar hit the presidential palace in southern Mogadishu. A spokesman for the African Union, Maj. Barigye Bahoku told the local and international Press that four Ugandan peacekeepers were killed when a mortar slammed into the presidential palace. Bahoku said eight others were also wounded in the attack.
Battles between Internationally-backed Somali government and Islamist groups led by Al Shabaab, which began in 2007, intensified on August 23 when the group declared “final and massive” against the Transitional government during the month of Ramadan.
Islamist groups control most of southern and central Somalia, while the government controls few areas inside the capital, Mogadishu. Last week’s escalation in fighting came after African nations pledged to strengthen their peacekeeping force in Somalia.

Those who are aware of the secrets of numbers as ellaborated by Shiikh Isxaaq Bin Axmed, will not be surprised that Somalia proper, which is literally governed by three eights, will never be tha same again, no matter what. This also applies to individuals who comes under the influence of satrun, in its negative aspects.
naturally, satrun has also its tremendous positive influence, which can be noticed in some high porifile characters such as president Obama, whom satrun positive influence elevated to the highest office on earth, although I doubt that he is that much happy or lucky in his marital or other family relationships, even as a child. Luckly Somaliland has escaped the fate of Somalia. All numbers pertaining to Somaliland reveals to me that Somaliland is much luckier and will ultimately prevail, through sheer perseverance
LOL…
In as much as your controversial writings goes… this one has some reasonable aspects of smelling the sheer truth. The Somaliland Public have the ability to act which make the difference unlike the Somalia Public
who are incapable to deal with their bad governance problems.
Cheers.

Warya Haleye, I dont know what the heck your talking about but in order for somalia to see a dramatic change it needs by the will of Allah it needs a dramatic new approach………..We cannot always be spectators to this war, we in the diaspora need to set aside our differences and come together to discuss, debate, and create small projects that we can work off of…….I know this want be accomplished over night but as the saying goes
"The journey of a thousand miles starts with one step"
WARNING: We should not be spectators of the fierce war in Mogadishu. We should do something to confront our enemies because the second target will be the Northern, if the few remnants of Mogadishu soon fall to Al-shaydaamiin. I think, action is more louder than words. It looks as if we are too busy about our new Government, but have not made any arrangement or army moblization up to now.
We should make hay before the sun shines. We are part and parcel of a burning region and we ought to be very careful about the dangers that should inevitably face us in the future.
M.J.Musa.
This is a foolish comment, somaliland is in no position to go into military adventures, our priority should be purely defensive,i.e protecting our civilians and maintaining our territorial integrity. These animals in the south only wish is to pursue endless wars we must not fall to their traps. As our deceased beloved former president Egal once said we may share the same ethnicity and religion with the people of somalia but we are totally culturally different thats why we cannot coexist with these people. End off.
Mr. Abdulla H. Ali Al-Salaamu Alaykum wa rahamatullahi wa barakaatu.
Sure what is going on Somalia will reach us, for that sake we have to be aware of it, and we have endure for every hardship comes accross our way what ever it might be.
As the british saying says "If you want a peace prepare a war"
Hey…
Somalia has proved otherwise..where are you from the British saying.
Somalia is under occupation by Amisom and what have you and neither your Tfg sell outs nor Alshabaab and Hizbu Islam are able to bring you any good. You are in for a long haul of damned conflicting limbos.
Cheers.
Assalam Alykum my dear brother's fear ALLAH I am a Somalilander second but a Muslim first. Make Dua on this last night of Ramadhan, may ALLAH make peace possible for our people in Somalia, yes our people. When Somalia finds peace, we need to recognize the independence of Somaliland until such a time when we mature enough as a people and unite greater Somalia once and forever. this will only be possible after we abolish tribalism and establish a system that respects the human rights of each and every man, woman and child under the laws of ALLAH
